So is it 36 really with the money from ZEKE, or is it really 16??
According to over the cap we are about 24.5mil under after releasing Zeke and the DLaw restructure. That site currently hasn’t updated to reflect the post June 1st numbers of releasing Zeke but adding the 10.9 brings it to around $24.5mil.

This does not account for the Tyron Smith restructure yet though so there will be more room.

We were in the hole about $7M and that’s not factoring in Pollard, Gilmore, Wilson, and LVE contracts. Spotrac says we have about $17M in cap space currently.

Designating him as a June 1st release means that his cap hit stays on our books until June 1st so it would not be updated until then. It just allows the player a better chance to sign somewhere while teams have more funding available (per se). On June 2nd the savings would show up against the cap (the 10.9 since it was June 1). We cannot use that money until that point (so most of it will go to draft picks).

"With a post-June 1 designation, a team is required to carry the player's full cap number until June 2 even though he is no longer a part of the roster. The player's salary comes off the books at that time unless it is guaranteed."

Cowboys don’t have anywhere close to 50M in space. Reading comprehension in here hahaah

They created 45M. You know they have spent some too right? Not to mention they were over the cap to begin with. Cmon people. Do better. My goodness. They probably have less than 20M in space

Obviously they don’t have 50m in space but the idea that they “only” have 20-25m in cap space going into day 3 in free agency like it’s a bad thing is funny.

Now it’s likely for extensions to “we like our guys” but still

I'll clear something up before it gets misunderstood. The Cowboys don't have $50M in cap space, they created $50M leaving us with about $22M-$26M of operating cap space. Todd didn't mention we were in the hole.
Right, and they've got some players they likely want to re-sign like Fowler and maybe Hankins. Gilmore is probably the biggest move we'll see Dallas make as far as bringing in any player from the outside.
