Demarcus Lawrence Sack Tracker

This is what he is...he's not a big sack guy and he won't until you get someone on the other side of him that can generate some pressure.

Not the other side that's the problem. It's the middle. If you have no push up the middle, it hurts the DEs because the quarterback can just step up and avoid the outside rush. Lawrence, Gregory and Smith all would fare better if Dallas could get a middle push.

That's what I mean whether its the middle or the other end.....he needs another threat out there to gain some pressure. He's not the pressure guy despite some of his sack totals in previous years. He's going to give you 5-8 sacks a season.

He has a great motor and not afraid to play the run! I'll take a guy like that on my team any day. Stats are for nerds. If you know football , you know he's a great player.

Yep, I feel pretty sure that he was playing hurt the first part of the season, but he has been all over the field in the second half of the season. I'd start all over on D with Lawrence, Gregory, Diggs, Wilson and maybe LVE. Aldon Smith for a reasonable price.

On the other side? More like two guys in the middle. Pressure up the middle puts the QB right in his tracks. As it stands now QBs step up and he is pushed right past them.

@ Cincinnati 0.0 sacks
2020 season total 4.5 sacks

At least he is doing his part
hes been playing well ok troll..hes putting pressure on guys played the run very well today chasing guys down for TFL causing a Fumble etc

theres more to players then sacks..

i saw two plays where he pushed the rushers into a sack by another payer running from him..seriously fans are a sad group around here constantly ripping their own players. Ridiculous poor attitude and low character!!

Ridiculous that he’s the guy you choose to pick a bone with. Literally one of the 3-4 guys on our defense that is actually good.

:hammer:......but still.....I'd like to see him on the right side a little more. He can take over a game when he has 1 on 1.....On the strong side...he gets chipped a lot. Get him singled up....and let him eat. ;)

Should I do the obligatory...but,but, but, pressures and Hot Boyz leadership value?

At 20 million per and all...

Also cue all the "who cares what he makes its not your money group and the infamous if you think Demarcus Lawrence is the prob on defense I question your football acumen experts."

That 20 million a year War Daddy defensive impact is undeniable I tell ya, lol.

The entire expectation bar is so low...

Average to above is so often lumped into elite it's become The Jerry Cowboy Way.

And a LOT of times it doesn't even hafta meet average performance standards to get big guaranteed checks at the Star.

Class,
Our letter for today is the Letter C

Coaching Choices and Contracts (given)

The Cowboy Cancer

P.S. But as DLaw will tell you, Don't ever get it twisted, they are a good team.

Not including the players on IR, DeMarcus Lawrence is the best player in this team right now.

Some of you owe my guy an apology.

I'm saying if he played alongside a TJ Watt or a Miles Garrett or hell a Aaron Donald.......you'd see his sack numbers go up. I know what he's paid. But he has perennially been our best defense end. Our most talented. And that in itself is a issue. He's a great player.....in comparison Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney needed each other. IF you just had one of those guys on that defensive line.....they are not the same defensive line. Lawrence needs another player of his caliber on that line with him whether its at the defense tackle position or the other end.

Lawrence got his knee rolled up in the Rams game on the last drive. He played 4-5 weeks basically on one leg waiting for that thing to heal up. Fans who hate him would have killed him if he sat three games because of it and instead killed him for not producing sacks. Fans who are objective and who actually understand the game knew he was hurt and appreciated his going out there and putting his long term health on the line to help the team. When I watch Armstrong out there in his place I appreciate him even more. Dude gives up the edge way too easily more often than not.
