It would be hard to pass on Walker at 60 but their is a slim chance he makes it to our 2nd round pick. I would hate if Tyrone Crawford keeps us from drafting a player who is a better player and better fit as our versatile d lineman. Crawford should be made a June 1st cut after this season if he has another mediocre season.

Walker is a no brainer at 60.

Yup. Even if we draft a DE in the 1st. Walker would still be hard to pass on. Funny thing is draft sites are trying to give him low grades when they gave Johnathan Bullard a high grade last year and Walker is a better pass rusher and has more potential then Bullard.

No such thing, there's a reason why the draft profiles have a strength & weakness category.
Meant more a perfect fit for Cowboys (e.g.4-3 edge vs 3-4OLb) perfect talent was not the correct term. Clarity is important as I am sure you understand.

Demarcus was a captain and team leader at FSU. The kid really worked hard after Brad Lawing took over at DEs for FSU and his production as an upper class an was outstanding with 10 and 16 sacks his Junior and Senior seasons.

Lawing did an excellent job of moving Demarcus around for favorable matchups. He absolutely destroyed Ole Miss and Michigan inside and whipped UF off the edge. Kid really sets the edge well against the run too.

I have concerns about Walkers ceiling. Has he maxed out? He's not going to run well at the combine and I'll be curious how strong he measures. He's a bit of a tweener also. Probably an early down SDE that can move inside as a pass rusher.

He's not going to be a WARDADDY. He's not a speed rusher and never will be. He will be a solid rotational DL that will give max effort so Rod may really like the kid. I seriously doubt he goes in the first with this group of DEs. I wouldn't be shocked if he fell to the third. 60 is a decent spot for him.

I heard it mention somewhere there are character concerns. Anything to that, or is that just an internet scout filling space?

I have no idea where those rumors are coming from. Kid never got in trouble at FSU that I can remember and was a team captain. Go watch the showtime series which features him a lot.

It's possible. Especially with the combine he'll probably have. Even though I can see a team like Baltimore taking him round 2.

I have seen him go around 40 + in Walters mock . I like him but I haven't watched games
his more of a five technique but his fast for a big guy

I think he can be a Justin Tuck type in passing situations. My dream would be him in round 2 and Basham in round 3. That's an upgraded line to me. I'm also assuming Lawrence plays at a high level to get a good contract

I'd love it. If Jibrill Peppers fall to 28 with those two selection I think we'd dominate the league

Walker in the second would be a dream although he's not that edge rusher we need. Love the player but not sure we wouldn't end up sliding him inside esp on passing downs which we already have several similar guys that rush the passer decently from inside on passing downs. Walker would be a great addition but I'm not sure he really adds another dimension. Think he would just end up part of the rotation, upgrade sure but game changer maybe not. And trust me it kills me to say that this is a player I really want.

Precisely my point. Look if Dallas likes the kid enough to take him at 28 fine by me. I mean, he PRODUCED. Not sure he's the right fit that high. Maybe a trade down scenario into round 2. Wait until the combine, he's not gonna run well and it will hurt his stock, which may help Dallas.

That is a good breakdown...:hammer:

If I had the choice of Charles Harris or DeMarcus Walker, I take Harris. If Harris is gone, I wouldn't mind trading into the top of the 2nd & taking Walker. We need a top notch 3T who can rush, to play beside Malik Collins in the future, but we desperately need a speed rush guy at RDE in the same way Haley was in our SB days. Haley was the last piece of the puzzle that took us over the top to the SBs we won. Let's get that guy this year, if it takes 3 picks to find him.
