IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys starting defensive end DeMarcus Ware said Thursday he's a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a thigh injury.

Ware, who hasn't practiced this week, plans to travel to the game and test his leg. Ware has done some light running while in rehab, including pushing off and doing some cutting.

"It's two times better than what it was," Ware said. "I do have some push. I actually have been running in the weight room. It's feeling pretty good to me personally."

"No, I'm not going to be out three or four weeks," he said. "I don't know where that came from. Somebody said it. I know my recovery is pretty fast and I'm feeling pretty good today."

idk, rather ware just get healthy. We need him healthy. But then again we need him and as much pass-rush as possible vs the eagles.

I noticed watching ware last Sunday it was times where the younger ware use to bend the corner get low and get to the QB. And also give the tackle a quick jab step out and then go inside quick for a sack. Last Sunday and etc look like ware lost alot of agility.

I remember a couple years back he came back the week after a neck injury and elevated the whole team.

Didn't something like this happen in the last game of the season vs the Commanders? I remember him playing but then never seeing him do anything in the game.

Yes. He has not missed a game due to injury.

That being said, the team should sit him this week, and try to get him to 100%, or as close to it as possible. He will try to tough it out, but it's not the best thing for him this season.

He needs to get healthier, he's been fairly ineffective over the past few games and the DL actually seemed to play with more intensity after he left the game last week. That being said, Hatcher, Jones and Selvie all appear on the injury report this week, so it may not be an option if he can play at all.

Yeah, it was essentially a playoff game, but he still had no business being out there.

If he can go, I play him, this is a very very important game. The team needs this win,, not for any mathematical reasons, but for they mindset,, they have to start stringing wins together. The 8-8 seasons and being 500 again now will wear on them.. they MUST win this game. If Ware can go, use him. But be smart about it.

I hope this isn't just to keep his consecutive-game playing streak alive. (He's never missed a game.)

It seemed that way last year when he couldn't even use his left arm. He was useless.

He needs to get healthy. His neck, shoulder, back, quad, all of it.

That was possibly his finest moment as a Cowboy IMO. He was carted off with a neck injury then came back the next week at undefeated New Orleans and made the game clinching sack and forced fumble. I believe Rat recovered the fumble. Ware was used as a pass rushing specialist that day and he was the freshest I had ever seen him in the 4th quarter. Personally, due to his body breaking down recently, I think that should be his role for the remainder of his career. Bring him in on passing downs and let him be fresh throughout the game. Unfortunately, he is not getting paid like some specialist and would have to take a lower salary. Regardless, we need a young pass rusher in next year's draft with one of our top picks.

We need him at the very least to keep the line fresh.

Then he pulls it REALLY bad, and he's lost until after the bye week.

No thanks. Ware has been completely ineffective anyway lately. The pass rush improved greatly after he got hurt.

Not at 50%.... Give me someone who is healthy. I would take a 100% healthy backup vs. a 50% Ware every time.

Bingo... he hasn't done jack lately. If something is wrong with him.. then he needs to stay off the field and get healthy.

I bet he is just saying this to make Philly game plan for him. Same with what Murray was doing. Neither one of them are practicing of course.
