DeMarcus Ware is working out with Cowboys DE Tyrone Crawford, Coppell alum Solomon Thomas

Former Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware may have retired from football but he is not staying far away from the game. And that's good news for Dallas.

At his retirement press conference in Frisco in April, the franchise's all-time sacks leader discussed the possibility of mentoring the next generation of defensive linemen in the post-playing career.

"I think one thing I like to do is teach and mentor the guys," Ware said. "I think I'll always be able to do that. I know I'll always be welcome here. You will see me out there, if Jason (Garrett) wants me to do it and Jerry (Jones) wants me to do it, coaching the guys. Some of them won't like it and it's OK. I'm always out to make sure the guys are doing what they need to do and mentoring them."

It did not take long for Ware to begin passing down his wisdom. He tweeted out some pictures on Thursday night of him working out with Cowboys defensive end Tyrone Crawford along with San Francisco 49ers rookie and Coppell alum Solomon Thomas, appearing to focus on how to use their hands against offensive linemen...

Wait a minute, a poster informed me that Ware should not be expected or have the capability to mentor our young pass rushers.

I know this sounds unlike DeMarcus Ware but I remember watching a video dallascowboys.com of Charles Halely trying to show our DE's while Ware was on the team technique and DWare is laughing at him. LOL!

By the way DWare was pretty much the premier pass rusher in the league at the time.

But it's interesting how he says "I know how some of the guys aren't going to like it".

Trust me, its not going to give Tyron any talent. Its a nice gesture, but at the end of the day does that stuff rarely pan out. For some reason some fans think it makes a player better, not to the extent they think. Work outs are personal and its not cookie cutter, nor is it a transfer of skills.

DeMarcus Ware was a complete package, Tyrone might learn a few things, but nothing that is going to elevate him to the next level.

When you say Tyron, I assume your talking about Tyron Smith who Ware took personal interest in his development and taught him how DE'S use counters when engaging OT's.

Or perhaps you've forgotten how much time Randy White and Charles Haley invested in improving Ware's rush technique and hand fighting? Or how Haley did the same for a young Leon Lett, the same Leon Lett who is coaching the current DLs??

Or maybe Tyrone is Van Miller's nickname that only you know because Miller has repeatedly given Ware credit for teaching the details of the position and discipline it takes to be great.

Or maybe, just maybe, a veteran player may have a modicum of knowledge, insight and passion to pass on to younger players and you're just talking out of your hat?

yes, it happens. I dont think DWare would have a lot to teach Tyron. Crawford on the other hand, some posters are going to think this is going to make him better. It wont, but its nice to be surprised i guess.

Shining Star Randy Moss worked out with Cole last off season and Cole had his best year.

he was good from the get go. A few hand moves arent making a difference where even a scout is going "holy crap, did that make a difference" besides what works for some doesnt work for all. Look at Hershel Walker, a hell of an athlete, did that make him a great RB? no. made him a good one, but not great. Do you think if EE worked with him, he would get that much better? No.

That doesnt mean much yea he might have learned a few things, but if Randy Moss didt work out wtih him and he had a great season because Dak targeted him more, would that make Cole less of a player?

You would try and explain based only upon a personal agenda...and Randy White was a linebacker first, and learned technique for inside. A long list of other players followed suite on chops and hand placements...and now you claim that was all ignorance and foolish. Go figure...and we'll expect you in camp giving Leon Lett instructions!:muttley::facepalm:
