If we include the defense as a whole and just include pass rush ability, Ware is the one trick pony of it because hes the only one on our team that can do it. Until somebody steps up for a full year and sacks the QB consisently, he can be the only guy we can count on. Again, I wasnt calling him a one trick pony for his talent but for the people around him. Dwight Freeny isnt a one trick pony of his defense, Robert Mathis is there. As for Lebron, again, I wasnt knocking his talent but as a team thats all they have and he is the one trick pony of it as a whole. Sorry for being confusing. Ware is one of my favorite Cowboys.

I think calling Ware the only pass rusher on the team right now is a little silly, considering Bradie notched 8 sacks last year, and Ratliff came up with 7.5. Sure, it would be nice to have another OLB putting up double digits, but I think you'd be surprised how few teams have two double digit sackers year in and year out playing end/OLB.

Don't let posting a good point become a trend, you might not fit in around here, lol.

Yep...

If you took out all of Ware's near-record-setting 20 sacks last year, we still would have finished 9th in the league in sacks. Think about that.

It's amazing to read things like how our pass rush is somehow stealthily weak. It's like reading about how Romo is no good. Unbelievable how short some people's memories are... They've forgotten that just a few short years ago we couldn't get to the QB at all just like they've forgotten what it was like to have Quincy, Hutch, and Vinny at QB.

And BTW... Someone needs to re-read their dictionary to see what "one trick pony" means.

Ware will break the all time record this year, averaging 9.2 sacks per game. Book it!

He has 4 they haven't credited him with and at least 5 instances of him getting a perfect jump and the refs assuming he was offside.

I moderate another Cowboys forum. That list comes from the Chicago official forums though and I updated it to an extent last year.

I expect that every great pass rusher now and in the past has the same stories.

BTW -- I still say there was NO WAY he should have been credited with a sack on Warner. Right call. You don't give a guy who misses a tackle the sack.

I still understood his point perfectly

Slate, I apologized for that bad analogy.

Josh, how can you put Bradie on that list? Hes really our mlb. I know we play the 3-4 but hes our best tackler. If we look at his previous years sack totals they go 3, 0, 2.5, 0, and another zero for his career. We're in trouble if we expect him to get 8 again, or better yet, expect it. He gets his sacks through blitzes where he runs free. When its 3 and 7 and Im the other teams DCoordinater, if the second fiddle I have to worry about is Bradie I will be doing cartwheels. He had a career year.

Ill give you Ratliff. Hes a budding star but we have nobody besides this. We need a pass rush speacilist on this team. Hopefully, one of the draft picks will step up and take that spot.

Reggie White was a beast, rest his soul. And Bruce Smith reminds me more of Ware, though. Yet if Ware can stay around as long as either of them, I think Jerry may be able to see Ware break the record. Of course I'm biased tho.
