News: DeMarcus Ware To Dallas? Inside The Cowboys 'Love Triangle'

I don't see that. He took a paycut to not get cut by the Broncos last year, before a career low in sacks, and missing all of those games, followed by back surgery.

I don't see where his bargaining position for money will be too high.
A team desperate to make a move. Look at Mario Williams. 2 year 17 million and he was released today

The sentimental part of me would love to see him finish his career in Dallas. The football side of me knows he is wearing down, but, I think he could still be a nice piece at the right price. I definitely don't overpay for him just because it's Ware but it's worth looking into if he is willing or wants to leave Denver.

Why? "All the guys that wanted Freeney" were right.

EXACTLY! Regardless of sack totals, Freeney made a legit impact as a pass rusher. All one had to do was watch Atlanta play, to see that he was still very effective. People love to throw out comments about fans not knowing as much as the front office or coaches but, sometimes, the fans are right. Not signing Freeney last season was an absolute mistake. Signing Ware (which I hope we do as a situational rusher) would not change the fact that we blew it last offseason with Freeney.

...Even inside The Star at Frisco, there is room for sentiment — at least for one person, owner Jerry Jones. Ware’s departure from the Cowboys two seasons ago, a release and a signing with the Denver Broncos driven by Dallas’ budgeting and Ware’s age and declining health, was emotionally challenging for Jerry due to his personal affection for the potential Hall-of-Fame player, who is of the highest character.

three seasons ago.

I don't mind Ware being brought back as a contributor, but not as the solution. He might be good for a limited number of snaps per game at a reasonable price. If Dallas re-signed him, then failed to do anything else to the line, that would not be smart.

Sign JPP, Ingram, and ware. Spend the 30 mill for all three with ware on a short term.
Cut any of the jags you need to make room
Super Bowl time.

Those three will give you sacks and pressure.
JPP, Collins,McClain, Ingram
JPP, Collins,McClain, Ware ( on third downs)

I'd prefer it to getting raped by any of these mediocre free agents posing as pass rushers. If Ware doesn't work out, you move on without a huge salary cap hit. You throw money at these free agents and you're stuck being disappointed for years.

Ware is a bridge to Gregory....Some people may not like it. But I think it's a decent solution to the problem.

Gregory or whoever the team acquires in the draft. At the right price - which I think Dallas has as good of a chance as anyone at getting - Ware returning makes sense. It buys you that bridge year they obviously need with no dependable answers in sight.

Best case scenario, he's your best situational pass rusher. Worse case, he's hurt and a shell of his former self. For a reasonable price, I'm willing to find out.

If this dude came back for the vet min, then all the guys here that wanted Freeney should be quiet. This would be "our" Freeney of 2016. Totally situational and sadly would be our best pass rusher immediately.
The only difference is Ware doesn't have anything left imo at the starter level...look if he came here he would be expected to start..if that happens he wont last five games...his best fit is right where he is at. Like I told Stash yesterday if he is good being in a rotation with Miller/Ray and IF Tony just so happens to join the donkeys...why in the heck would he want to come here? Tapper/Irving on one end and DLaw on the other...hardly Miller/Ray territory. Great guy awesome he still loves DFW but stay in Denver where you wont be expected to perform at a high level anymore. Bring in a younger vet with some real tread left on the tires like Riley or Shead.

Just a matter of when. I see the stars aligning for D-Ware to be back in Big D.

Be-Ware of the D-Ware

Waste of time.

I love how Demarcus Lawrence is referred to as a kid. He's been in the league 3 years.

I want Ware JPP or Ingram here next year, 2 year deal. Limited rotational type role.

Ill take Ware cheap plus one of the other guys. I dont think Ware would be cost prohibitive and if we really wanted to add a bigger name player we still could.

Ware's best fit is to follow Wade to the Rams. Denver fit is same or worse than Dallas. Ware more familiar with Marinelli than new Broncos DC.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ware suit up for us next year.......ASSUMING he can actually be effective as a rotational pass rusher. He could contribute, and I don't see him as a "progress stopper".

Again, this is assuming his health checks out and he's still got something in the tank.

My thoughts exactly.

Getting what's left of Ware wouldn't interest me much but with as little pass rush as we have, he could probably help us as a situational rusher. He still had a a lot left in the tank when he left after the 2013 season and could have really helped us the last couple of times we made the playoffs. He's had 21.5 sacks since he left but he'll be 35 in July and age and injuries are catching up with him. He only started 8 games this past season with only 4 sacks, he's clearly not the player he once was.
