I don't understand why Overshown has such a poor PFF score..His overall grade is 102 out of 169 LBers
Because PFF is largely a measure of consistency. Right now Overshown is a big play guy, but still has a lot to work on to round out his game. His speed alone is a tremendous asset and reason for him to be on the field and purley talking about a sideline to sideline defender he could already be a top 5 LB. He also is a tremendous pass rusher when you can scheme matchup advantages or have him come undetected. A lot of work to do both in playing the run, especially up the middle as his size can be an issue making him easy to block. Surprising to me he can be very inconsistent in coverage as well, and has shown prone to missing tackles in the open field. It's crazy to keep him off the field at this point, however I understand why Zimmer didnt play him as a starter early in the season.

He should get better, gotta keep in mind he is still basically playing his rookie year so some of these issues are to be expected.

Well said, TP.

Like you said, this is realistically DeMarvion Overshown's rookie season since he missed out on all of last season with a preseason ACL tear, so he's very raw and going to commit some mistakes as he keeps learning the pro game better. Best thing to do is to keep playing him as much as possible this season as the Cowboys already have a bad 5 - 7 season and a very slim chance of even making the playoffs. Play DO as much as possible and allow him to learn and get better for 2025.
