I have seen people throw around names like Bryant (lol, unlikely) and Tate as possible WRs that we should look at should they be available when we select. One name I have not heard anyone mention is Thomas'. It appears 27 is right around the neighborhood of where he is expected to go. I will be honest and say that I do not know much of anything on this guy. Does anyone know this kid? From what I have briefly read, he has the tools to be a legit #1 WR

I've read that he has physically as gifted as Dez, but that he has a foot injury that might not be healed, and that he doesn't have experience running many routes.

But appearantly he's a bigger receiver with great body control and good hands.

I'm a diehard Tech fan and have watched every game he's played. He actually was recruited by Chan Gailey to play in a Pro Style offense and did so after redshirting a year.

It is true that he has run a limited number of routes his two seasons under Paul Johnson, but he had at least one practice year and a full year of playing in every game in a pro style attack. He will need work on his routes, but I think some people don't realize he didn't just play in a triple option offense.

He and Tate are very different receivers, so it would be hard to compare their abilities. He is closer to Bryant in size and strength and probably faster if he can run a 4.45 with a healthy foot. I don't doubt that he can, since I've seen him take too many smoke screens at a dead stop, stiff arm a corner and get big chunks of yards after the catch. He also is a beast when it comes to jump balls. Trust me, with Tech's QB, there were plenty of balls he had to adjust to in the air and fight for.

Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfUnZAnX93w
This doesn't seem remarkable at all, unless you know the context. I wish I could find the prior play, because they ran the exact same play and #40 broke it up. Tech just lined right back up and Nesbitt floated the exact same pass for the completion.

BTW, for anyone that wants to see the triple option, here is the 3 minute highlight package from the same game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yC8qx_U9N1w&feature=PlayList&p=8F731240931CEF72&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=21

I especially like the Dwyer run at the 35 second mark. That is why his nickname is The Diesel. You also get a nice hit by Morgan Burnett, #1, and some really nice runs by Anthony Allen, #18. He is replacing Dwyer as the B-back next year as a SR and should be a top-10 RB prospect.

I like him alot and think he will be a player. If he is there at 27 I cant see the Cowboys drafting him unless it is to flip him in a trade. RW might feel too much pressure with him on the roster.:laugh2:

all i can say its real iffy to pick a player that high in the first round with the foot injury he has

i see him dropping down to about 2nd round, going to someone like rams or lions, they take a gamble on him

Georgia Tech Season Ticket holder here.

If we drafted Demaryrius Thomas we would be an unstoppable offense. I have a feeling he goes before 27 though.

Good, smart kid too.

All I think about is him dropping a ball right in his hands to end the comeback attempt against uga. It was a simple curl route on 4th down. He was wide open and dropped it.

He didnt drop many in his career.

I know highlight scouting is a very dangerous thing, but I really like this guy. Now I don't know about his injury -- who does, really, except for the doctors who get to examine him. But he looks like he has really good speed for his size. I'm more impressed with him than I am with a lot of WRs that get mentioned more often.

This may be a case where Jerry's connection to Chan Gailey pays off, too. We should be able to get the true scoop on him.

He broke his foot training for the combine and plans to have a workout just a few days before the draft. That workout will be key.

yeah but you have to be careful of that connection now, since gailey is a head coach in NFL, gailey could want to throw you off track so a player he wants you dont draft;

that true fuzzy, but i dont see any way he can run full speed, not enough time to really heal up

He had a lot in big situations actually. And that was probably the most memorable play of GT season.
