He had lots of concussions. Definitely a CTE thing.

Cancel football, save lives. Or at least change it from tackle to two-hand-touch.

I don't know if it's strictly a CTE thing. As stated in another post, there is the possibility that genetics are a contributing factor in this. I don't pretend to be a doctor or anything, so I can't really describe what genes would cause this or anything. However, I do know some friends who have seizure issues and some of those come from genetics.

Genetics don't typically have people as primely athletically conditioned as DeMaryius Thomas dead at 33.

Epilepsy is manageable. People can life a normal 80-100 years with epilepsy.

Apparently there's also a car accident where he was driving 70 in a 30 zone and flipped over, in 2019. That may have had something to do with it as well if there was some severe head/neck/spine trauma caused by that.

Damn that is terrible.... He was a great WR but seemed to be a better human off the field.

Yes, that is the case. I'm just saying I can see genetics playing a role. Certainly CTE factored in with genetics can be a deadly concoction. I was just pointing out that there is probably some genetics involved.

What a sad situation....everything I've heard about him is that he was a good man and overcame a lot.....one year I lost 3 players, one in September, one in October and one in November.......it's very tough.....I hope his family finds peace and pray for him.....we take these guys for granted, but the are people just like us....

He was prone to seizures. There's speculation that is what killed him.

33 is much too young.
He was taking a shower....may have hit his head when he fell....very sad....I lost a cousin like that, fell and hit his head on the tub.....drowned in 2 inches of water.....I guess that's why it hits hard.

He was a great human beign and a great football player. Him and Dez seemed to always be compared.
So many of these kids come from a sad upbringing and we, as fans rip them to shreds.....stuff like this really hits me hard......I've seen a lot of my former players suffer and it really hits home....very sad.

It’s their parents that should be ripped to shreds not the kids.

CTE came up as possible cause of seizures but instead of speculating think people are now waiting to hear the cause. Dorsett also still bothered by CTE.
If the cause does come back as CTE wont be surprised to see a backlash for the NFL to implement more preventive steps

lots of measures in place. It’s up to players to look after each other. These guys get paid stupid money for the fame and the risk.
