Demeco Ryans Released

Used to work for the Eagles, and he was the coolest guy on the team. Always real nice and chill.

But na we shouldn't sign unless he comes real cheap. Someone (Cleveland?) will give him too much.

People thought Ware was done as well...

I and many others didn't think Ware was done...Just too much money for declining production.
He had a pretty good playoff run this year but, he wasn't great in the regular season and the
Broncos are asking him to take a pay cut this year if he wants to stay. Seems like I've
heard that before.

Im sorry, i just thought having depth at a position was a good thing. My bad

No need to be sorry! If you're looking for depth, the draft is the absolute "best" place to visit.
You get one and have several years "at low prices" to evaluate him and groom him for
bigger and bigger roles.

I just think having a leader on the team for if/when Sean Lee leaves a game with some sort of injury is important.

Very few felt he was done, most felt he was too expensive

No they didn't. The Cowboys just weren't going to pay him $18M/year or whatever stupid contract he was under. Denver paid him 3 years $30M. That's $10M/year. I'm sure the Cowboys would have kept him for that. He refused the pay cut and left.

Ummm...yah. People quote his injury history and said he was pretty much washed up. Not everyone-- but there were some for sure. My point is simple-- vet players like Ware and Ryans can still play a key role for teams. They may not be every down players-- but they can be effective in certain roles, not to mention their locker presence, leadership, and work ethic being helpful as well.

Here we go again. Looking at everyone else's trash.
Stop shopping in loser teams garbage dump, please.

One, I wouldn't touch Ryans given his injury history and that fact he looks totally broken down.

But the idea that we should ignore players from bad teams that are cut when we are looking to add some cheaper depth is pretty ridiculous. Teams cut players all the time for all kinds of reasons. Just because Player A was cut by the Titans doesn't mean Player A still couldn't be a solid signing for depth purposes.

I disagree with your premise. Bad teams tend to have bad players which tends to perpetuate bad teams.
Yes, there may be exceptions to the rule but, I just think looking for players who you want to be
improvements over what you have demands that you look at teams that have quality players and better
records. Just look at the Cowboys, we have tended to shop for our groceries at castoffs from Cleveland,
San Diego, Jacksonville, etc. How is that working out for us lately.

11 sacks in 14 games played last year. That's pretty good production right there.
