I woke up this morning only to find that Frantastic was still the coach at Texas A&M. Someone tell me how that happens.

I don't think you'll find any support for firing Fran from the Texas or Oklahoma fans. 
In all seriousness, are there any other A&M fans on this board?
You're the only guy who seems to post anything about them.
I'd have thought there would be a lot more... lord knows there's enough Horn fans crawling around here, and OU is well-represented as well. But I can recall seeing more UTEP fans posting around here than Aggie fans.

Wouldn't a true fan still call it Memphis St.?
I am an A&M fan. Graduated in 1994. I don't post too much about them because they haven't been worth post about in several years. It is not been a very good program. They had a good year this season, but still were a few plays from having a losing record. That is progress because in the previous few years, they would have lost all of those close games. They pulled out a few this year.
I am not too excited yet because they have a tough schedule next year. Trips to Tech, Mizzou, NU and OU will not be easy. I am dissappointed in McGee's progress at QB. He passed the ball much better at Burnett than he has shown in college. That kind of limitation can hurt a team. I love his leadership or as this board put it his moxie, but he has to pass the ball better for A&M to take a big step.
They still have steps to gain on Texas and Oklahoma. They have been out recruited for several years now and don't have the coaches to overcome that. Winning at Austin was a good win, but they have a 2-7 record against Mack Brown. That ain't good.
I am one of those rare people who roots for both Texas and Texas A&M. I saw many more Longhorns' games on TV as a kid growing up than A&M games. I at first was going to attend UT out of high school, but in the end decided on A&M when I chose to go into engineering. That is when I really started rooting for their football team.
I will still root for both any chance I get. It doesn't matter to me which one wins when they face each other. I would like to see A&M develop into a national power, but it is going to take a while. A national power to me is a team that is ranked in the top 10 for several years in a row and every once in a while makes a true run at the MNC. A&M hasn't done that. Texas has and Oklahoma probably has been better than them. Since the Big 12 started, OU has set the standard and A&M needs to get to that level. I have doubts that Coach Fran is the guy to get them there.
