Super Bowl loses.

I couldn't be more please without an event involving Jerry bumping his head, and a new GM that knows talent

And most of their losses have been blowouts. That has to suck.

I couldn't agree more. The look on Manning's face on the sideline was priceless. Then the look on Eli's face in the box was just as good. Too bad that POS Archie didn't show his mug too. Can't stand any of them.....

Well..

I thought the press was laying it on pretty thick..

with all the comparisons to Elway and Manning.

And the media added to this result in a way

as pretty much focusing on Manning as the main attraction with Denver being there.

Not a good thing when you have 44 other players

..and a staff of coaches who deserved more credit in helping Manning get back to the Big Enchilada game.

Why are you pleased?

1. Because the Seahawks have never won a Sup[er Bowl

2. Because ultimately they are not the same threat as NY, Philly, Commanders, 39ers. Their winning is sort of neutral in my eyes.

3. In a sense they were the underdog since they had never won anything. Maybe not in Vegas, but Denver has a stories history and they didn't.

4. Peyton didn't win. I like him, but I also understand he has a ring. See 3

5. This solidifies the truism that defense wins championships. Pass rush being the most important aspect of that. Seattle has great corners. But they can cover for only so long. The pass rush, as savage as it was kept Peyton uncomfortable. THGis made the DB's much more effective. I think this is a lesson for those who believe scoring wins.

I suppose in the grand scheme of things this was the best outcome. Maybe Jerry sees that even the best of offense can be shut down by an aggressive defense.
If the broncos had won, we might have went TE and wide reciever in the first two rounds.......

Thanks for the explanation.

we still might..ha, ha

Peyton Manning is now 1-2, and has gotten his doors blown clean off in the two losses.

Overrated? Clap, clap, clapclapclap?

I have to take up for Denver here, because it's the same side of an argument I'm always getting into here in the Bay Area with SF fans. It's better for a team to get to the big game and lose than it is to not get there at all. There's something to be said for feeling for fans who have gotten there 4 times and never won (MIN), but once you win one or two, the SB losses are just second place trophies. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Though, it was pretty embarrassing being held to 30 points below your season scoring average while on the big stage. :)

So what do we need to do to go from letting the Broncos score 53 on us to keeping them to a hand-me TD a the end of the game?

Too much to hope for.

But then, our own offense is quite a bit more effective passing the football than SEA's is. At least until Rice and Harvin really get into that lineup. We just need to play a heck of a lot better defense than we do. Starting with a rangy S who can tackle would be nice. Some consistency at MLB and a WLB who knows his job would help. Having a DL capable of suiting up on Sundays and applying pressure while doing so it obviously pretty important, too.

For starters get healthy and upgrade the defense.

End of discussion. We need to be able to collapse the pocket with the front four. If we can do that, we can beat anybody in the league.

YES, with Barry Church and JJ Wilcox playing safety. I am as big a proponent of DB play as anybody, and the Cowboys did that with the cornerbacks. We now need to turn to the defensive line. I think this off-season will be like the year we drafted Tyron Smith, where we also brought in a couple of guards in free agency. We're either going to go defensive line heavy in the draft, or a combo in draft/free agency.
