If Dak was purely product of system we will find out this season as defensive coordinators have off-season to game plan for him. Now if he has another good year then its just Dak is problem for teams and likely just gets better.

I think he's wrong.

But he did not at all say he was a product of the system.

Hes talking about Dak walking in an offensive situation that maybe no rookie in NFL history had walked into
  • NFL leading and pro bowl rusher
  • Three pro bowl offensive lineman..
  • A future HOF tight end
  • A multi year pro bowl WR
  • An nearly uncoverable slot guy

You have to admit, it is a total dream to walk into.

In the end though, Dak delivered in a big way.

Makes no sense. All of our backups have struggled mightily. If a young QB can figure out why do slightly more experienced guys and veterans (Weeden, Cassell, Moore, Sanchez) look like pure garbage when they are out there.

I think Mr. Joseph is over simplifying it and implying that the O Line made him look better.

Good luck with Simien by the way. Enjoy losing to the Patriots in the playoffs.

Vance Joseph is inherently implying that the Broncos are NOT a good "football team for a young QB". And seeing as how Joseph is now the coach of the Broncos, he better get to work on making his team more "young- QB- friendly".

And I guess our team was built for young QBs to be successful, but not veteran backups. Makes total sense to me!

Sounds like competitive jealousy to me.

Well that is BS.

His situation definitely helped. Nobody can deny that.

Where the NFL missed on Dak was not only did he have all of the physical ability you could want but he also carries himself like a 10 year vet.

IF he carried himself like a normal NFL rookie he wouldn't have had success in Dallas. He would've just been a typical rookie QB.

Also, how many people were picking us to finish 2nd or 3rd in the division last year? A lot. It's convenient that we all of a sudden had this great situation when not many were picking us to be much better then 8-8 or 9-7.

Three QBs walked into the same situation in 2015, I forget what happened.;)

:hammer:

Also worth mentioning, a lot of users here put us around that record as well.

Is our team suddenly less good for a young qb?

Dak was awesome and yes, he is better than Moore, Weeden et al.
Still, it not totally fair to compare those guys is 2015 wirhout Zeke vs what we ran out there in 2016. They did lose a ton of one score (or less) games in 2015 that may have had a different outcome wirh Zeke.

If it was all about the system, wouldn't our backup QBs in 2015 have looked not awful?

Or did the system completely change between 2015 and 2016?
Exactly.

Also, they are coming off of a Superbowl.

How does the defending Superbowl champs not have a good situation for a young QB?
Because they had a bad offensive line and running game and lost many key defenders from a historic defense?

Zeke definitely factors in but you can't even compare Dak's ability to the guys we trotted out in 2015.

I don't see those guys sniffing anything close to Dak Prescott's production even with Zeke.
