For those few (out of towners?) who don't look at the Dallas Morning News blog, I had to post this gem:

BLOGGER'S NOTE: FB Deon "Cricket" Anderson might be the Cowboys' most entertaining character, so I figured it'd be fun to give the dude a diary. He'll discuss whatever is on his wacky mind in Cricket's Chirps, which will run every Saturday throughout the season. He felt the need to explain his funky running motion this week after T.O. poked fun at it on Hard Knocks:

"T.O., you know, he's a vet in the game. He's a little older. I'm the new, modern-aged athlete. There's a bit more technique that I use.

"It's like, if you were to run through water, how would you use your arms? You'd pump your arms. That's what I'm doing. I'm pumping my arms, but at the same time, I'm gathering wind with my hands and pushing back.

"I'm swimming. It's almost like I'm swimming through air.

"The waddle throws the defenders off. When I come up on them, they don't know whether I'm going left or right. When I'm waddling, they're just stationary. I've got them flat-footed. And I've got a quick first step, so whenever I decide, they're too late.

"The gathering of the forearms is called the strike-before-getting-struck technique. The false conception is that people think the defenders hit offense. No. Hmmm-mmm! As a fullback, I hit them first. That's why I'm good at what I do, because I tend to attack before I get attacked.

"There's a method behind the madness ... and I've perfected it."

Is this the opposite of the immaculate conception

Am I the only one who likes this guy the more I see/hear from him?

No, you're not. The guy's hilarious, goofy, quirky, self-depreciating, laughs hard at his own jokes... what's not to love? :)

The "conception" slip aside, he sounds like one pretty intelligent dude. Not the sort of breakdown -- be it humorous or true -- that you usually hear from athletes.

This is going to a regular feature throughout the year? Oh I freaking love it. The malaprops alone are going to be hysterical.

I absolutely love The DA. That piece was hilarious because he made his B.S. sound like the straight-faced truth. Every time I've seen him on the TV he has done or said something that entertained me. Seems like a great guy to go have a beer with. PLUS he can help the team win! He's a pretty damn good lead blocker and receiver.

I love this kid since reading his story last yr before the season. I paid close attention to him during the pre season and he does deliver so punishing blows with his blocks. Like stated earlier we have not had this since the Moose. As long as he stays healthy he will contribute immensely.

Yep. Still dying to see the crazed chicken on kickoff coverage.

I can only imagine what an average day in the locker room is like.

We sure have some personalities on our team.

Between Romo, T.O, Pac, Deon, and Crayton im sure the locker room is pure class every daY.
