Cowboys preview show says he had his knee scoped today and will be back for the season opener.

T-New would play today if it was a regular season game.

I've heard that before regarding numerous Cowboys players. I just hope he's back and fully healthy for the regular season.

People like to list the names of the QBs who tried (and failed) to replace Troy, but we've never come close to replacing Moose, either.

Much like O-line and wide receiver, I don't remember them putting too much of a 'draft investment' into the fullback position - unfortunately.

People were calling for Deon's head, but Crosslin isn't taking his job.. not after what I watched tonight, anyways.

So it really comes down to this. The other FBs have a chance to take Deon's job ... although with Scwapp not playing yesterday it doesn't look good for him. More likely, is that we keep 4 TEs... there is some love for Rodney Hannah on the staff and it seems obvious that Phillips is taking the #3 job.

The staff knows what Deon can do and he isn't likely to get a hell of a lot better at it.

Bottom line, he may not make the team when he gets back. Like it or not, FB is a dying position and unless you've got a super lead blocker, there may not be much value in keeping a guy around if he projects to play only a handful of snaps on O
