Deon Grant?

No thanks. Sensy, Poole, Church and Matt Johnson. That's all we need.

Says the Cowboys are one of the teams interested.

He is much better S than Pool. Grant excels in covering TEs like Gronk man to man.

Plus his leadership and championship experience would be invaluable to a D that has lacked that dimension for far too long.

Not sure he has enough left in the tank to warrant a roster spot

And his ability to drop to the ground with a fake injury when the other team is driving on us would be invalubale.

I don't see the need for both Pool and Grant on the roster.

If Grant would sign for the same deal that Pool received which was 1.1 mil salary with 100k signing bonus, then they could cut Pool if Grant outplayed him in the preseason or vise-versa.

FYI - Pool is 27 and Grant is 33; however, Pool does have significant concussion problems.

Is this the LSU kid who got his leg crushed in a car wreck right after he got drafted?

I think you're thinking of Chad Jones.

Thanks. I was trying to put the name and Giants together with Safety, and I just couldn't figure out the right name.

Grant may be old, but his health is more reliable. Plus Grant already has experience and success in the Big Nickel. This is the coverage (3 physical/long coverage safeties) that is most successful against the new era 12 package.

Running out 2 athletic TEs like Gronk and Hernandez will be the rage next season and the Cowboys better prepare for it. Even having 4 good cover corners will not be enough against those offenses.

If jenkins truly holds out at CB, I'll take Grant to play the nickel/dime inside.

no agent would advise Jenkins to hold out any mandatory practices. He only makes like $1 mil or so in salary and will get fined for missing anything that isn't voluntary when both he and his agent know Dallas has no intention of signing him longterm.

Right now he's just sending a message that he is unhappy, but if he doesn't show to TC, he'll just fall further behind and will ge fined so much that his only option next year will be to sign a 1 year deal with someone and hope he can turn that into a long term deal.
