QB-Tony Romo, FA QB/drafted QB- Brad Johnnosn needs to go

RB- Marion Barber, drafted RB/FA RB- need someone to spell Barber when he gets tired.

FB- Deion Anderson, Oliver Hoyte-Anderson is a good blocker and he is better than Hoyte at catching out of the backfield.

TE- Jason Witten, Anthony Fasano, Tony Curtis-pretty much the same as last year, but maybe there will be competition between Curtis and Fasano.

#1 WR- Terrell Owens- A given

#2 WR- drafted WR/FA WR/Terry Glenn/Miles Austin/Isiah Stanback- probably will be competition for the #2 WR spot

#3 WR- Patrick Crayton- Crayton is a perfect #3 guy

LT-Flozell Adams-we should re-sign him if possible
LG-Kyle Kosier- could be competition here but we could live with Kosier
C-Andre Gurode- one of the best blocking centers
RG-Leonard Davis- a BEAST
RT-Marc Colombo- has an attitude and will stick up for his players

LDE-Jason Hatcher-Spears has had 3 years to show what he could do, but now we give the better pass rusher a chance.

DT-Jay Ratliff- there will probably be competition here but Ratliff can get to the QB and stop the run plus we would have great backups in Furgueson and Tank Johnson, either way we are set here.

RDE-Chris Canty-actually showed improvement under Wade and was pretty solid unlike Spears.

LOLB-Anthony Spencer- Ellis will be back and I respect him for playing hard after his injury, but Spencer is younger and is better at Ellis in some areas, like dropping back in coverage, and he is not bad either at stopping the run or getting to the passer.

LILB-Bradie James- pretty solid guy all away around

RILB-Kevin Burnett-Akin Ayodele is ok, but he never did anything that made you say WOW, Burnett is younger, more athletic, faster, can drop back into coverage, the only worry about him is how good at stopping the run is he

ROLB-DeMarcus Ware- NO NEED EXPLAINING

#1CB-Terrence Newman-A GIVEN

#2CB-Anthony Henry-gets hurt every year, but when he is healthy he is pretty good

#3CB-FA CB and drafted CB- we probably need to draft a CB and also bring in a free agent CB to be the 3rd guy, and to be able to replace one of our starters if they get hurt.

FS-Ken Hamlin- we need to re-sign him, he's not great but he is better than what we have had there in a long time

SS-Roy Williams- could definately be replaced, but since we signed him to a long term deal he is here to stay at least for next year.

Sorry that was so long, and I know the season just ended, but this is how I feel about the things we need to do to get to the next level besides our players showing a little heart and acting like they want to win for the entire season, and hopefully they and the coaching staff have learned that you have to play tough and with heart for a WHOLE season, whether you are 7-9 and struggling for a playoff spot or 13-3 and are already guaranteed a playoff spot.
GUYS if our team and players do these Things for next year, I will be watching, along with you guys, the Dallas Cowboys in the 2009 Superbowl.

If Fergie comes back full strength, I could see Ratliff moving over to LDE, or at least rotating over there some.

Agree with that and pretty much everything.

What about Bartel as the backup QB. Haven't heard much about him, but does anybody know if he has developed at all. It would certainly be nice to have a good, YOUNG, lively backup to step in if anything should happen to Romo.

Flozell maybe
Glenn maybe
Roy stays
Henry stays at CB
Hamlin stays where he is at if he gets resigned
Springs no
Cartwright no
Turner would take him but doubtful

There is going to be changeover on this roster. You folks that indicate virtually no change aren't seeing how the NFL works. There will be between 2 and 4 new starters on offense/defense to start next season. Then figure on 4 to 6 new backups.

Greatest likelihood to be gone:

J. Jones
N. Jones
Reeves
Thompson

50/50 gone:

Adams
Glenn
Ferguson
Davis
Hamlin

Wouldn't suprise me "gone":
Akin Ayodele
Kosier

I would put Glenn in the probably gone category......I'd be suprised if Kosier went anywhere......I doubt Dallas pays Davis what it would take to keep him.

get rid of Hoyte and draft Owen Schmitt.....

Dont we have Deon Anderson coming back next year? I really liked what I saw from him this year blocking and catching out of the backfield.

Schmitt is a monster though! I enjoyed watching his blocks and his run in the bowl game and watching him get emotional you could tell how much football means to him. Man is hardcore

2 Words: LORNE SAM

UTEP's QB/WR is a guy that can come in and make plays. He was a high school QB and went to Florida State but was used exclusively as a WR.

He transfered to UTEP and was impressive. He split time at QB with freshman Trevor Vittatoe (Trinity Euless HS). He doesn't have the greatest arm, but it's accurate. He can run the option, but shines as a WR (6'3 215). He isn't afraid to get physical and is very fast.

If he's draft it probably won't be til the later rounds, but he could be there in FA. He's a guy I'd love Dallas to at least take a look at. I've seen very little of Stanback (a few college games) and I'd say Sam is an upgrade for sure.

PS
UTEP alum here, so I am biased :)

People have to get off Hatcher's jock already. He's a rotation guy and not much else.

If we don't let Ratliff take the LDE postion, I can see this as a draft priority.

i just don't get why so many people here want to see Fergie gone -- Fergie at NT for run downs opens so many opportunties for Ratliff and even Johnson to take snaps from Spears and Bowen
