Depth Chart updated

Atleaat tavon isn't in at RB. That was so stupid.

That was always BS.

They didn't like the optics of addressing the need at WR with a WR of Austin's skill level. They called him a RB so people couldn't use his poor performance as a WR to guage how little he would actually contribute.

So on offense we basically just lost Dez Bryant and Jason Witten and replaced them with Allen Hurns and Swaim...

Why does this not feel like a meaningful upgrade?

I don’t think the idea is to use Hurns and Swaim like they did Dez and Witten. I think the workload will likely be disbursed among several players.

Really hope Bo Scarborough makes the team. Maybe they keep 3 RBs + Tavon but then does that mean they keep 6 wide receivers (not including Tavon, but that would be only if Lance Lenoir makes the team.) But the only way I see 4 TEs making the team is if Bo or Lenoir or someone else doesn't make it. It'd be a shame if Rico doesn't make the roster.

Gregory will ascend to at least second string once it's all said and done. Before the reg season starts I should say

Gallup will start over TWill and Maliek Collins will be the 1T starter for the opening game.

I don’t know that the Cowboys ever said they were going to list him as a RB. My recollection is that they said he would be used some out of the backfield and as a runner. And it’s not a wild or made up idea designed to deceive people, which is a silly thought anyway. Austin ran the ball 184 times as a Ram, and averaged 6.7 yards per carry. He had almost as many carries as receptions.

Surprised we haven't heard much on Covington...former QB turned lb with the measurables..was hoping he could put some heat on Wilson...still early though

We usually only keep 4 defensive tackles but sometimes we go long with 5.

Excluding Irving, I think that will ultimately give us

Collins
Ward
Woods
Jones
Price

When Irving returns after 4 games, I think you see someone cut from the list. The obvious choice would be Woods. If you like Woods and maybe you want to stash him on your PS, which is why he is so low on the depth chart, maybe you don't go long at defensive tackle after all.

I think we may go short at defensive end with 5 rather than 6.

My biggest surprise is that they aren't putting Austin out there as a returner.

Players with more time on the team or more experience usually are automatically ahead on the depth chart at first.

I find this thread to be great comedy.

People look at that list and believe it actually means something.

The biggest surprise to me is Chaz Green rallying to be awarded a 2nd team depth spot.

Of course, it may well be just a matter of time before his body betrays that achievement.
