Depth concerns

Before the season started many here were lamenting the lack of depth on this team. Myself included. But three games in I’m beginning to change my tune.

No Gallup. No problem. Wilson steps right in. Same with Collins. Steele is becoming a man of steel. Cox and Gholston getting valuable time too. Defensive back position is turning out better than expected. Not perfect by any means (TE’s running amok through the secondary), but some of these guys are filling in quite nicely.

It’s almost a blessing in disguise because we are seeing some great play from guys who are getting opportunities because of others injuries. OSA comes to mind

Depth at center and depth at LB is a worry for me. Farniok is the only backup center that I know of. I assume he is taking the backup center reps in practice. Williams is the emergency backup QB in games. I heard McGovern is taking some reps at center but don't know if true.

No LBs on the PS.

I also think some the assistant coaches deserve some love too. Like Philbin on offense and all the defensive position coaches. They have revised schemes and positions to help the young players have some success.

Sometimes just putting round pegs in round holes and square pegs in square holes seems to work out better.

Don't ask players to do things they can't.

Deepest 53 we have seen in a while. Especially in light of how many have tested positive and missed games.
