Derek Fisher meeting with Miami Heat

Wonder why he'd go there...Chalmers is not terrible. The Heat need to add depth in the front court since they traded Beasley.

I will be hell shocked if Derek Fisher leaves LA. He is just flirting, thats all it is.

More likely than not. Basically try to use it as leverage to call the Lakers' bluff if Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak try to lowball him on his contract, which for whatever reason they feel the need to do.

I'll never understand Jerry Buss whining about what he's paying Phil Jackson when it's clear Phil Jackson kept the Lakers relevant.

that's what it seems like to me.

It would be another nice addition for the Heat if they're able to land him.

Agreed. I just don't see it happening. The addition of Steve Blake to the Lakers would help keep his minutes down significantly. I guess he could come off the bench for Chalmers though.

I don't really have a lot of respect for Fishers game.

He just doesn't mess up and can hit a 3 occasionally.

LA would be so much better if they had a slashing point guard.

So basically I should expect to see a lot of Miami Heat gear now that the bandwagon is loaded?

Sweet.

Interesting. He plays pretty solid D, low turnovers, and clutch. Sign me up.

A slashing PG for them would be them adding Iverson. It's not needed when 2 of your 3 stars are already very good at that, not to mention they would NEED a guy that can drop the 3. Fisher would be a great fit because LeBron is an excellent passer.

I am already having these talks with some buddies who are now flip-flopping about being Heat and Orlando fans. Blasphemy.

I still hate the Heat. But I'll admit that I'll smile when/if they win just because it will irrate the Lebron haters.

My best friend is a Miami Heat fan though. Has been since I meet him in High school and they were AWFUL.

He's a pretty happy man right now with all the additions they've made. Of course he's also a NY Giants fan so what does he really know anyway. :)

I was talking about LA.

Miami may be the only team in the league that doesn't need a true point guard.

I doubt Fisher leaves LA.

The reason he is there, IIRC, is bec. his daughter's doctor is out in LA.

Fisher is at the end of his career, and its apparent with the way he has conducted himself on/off the court, his kids are a high priority (good for him). If his daughter's doctor is out in LA, he won't leave LA. JMO.

Its hard to say.

Miami has had trouble filling their stadium for several years now, even with one of the league's best players in Wade.

You might see more Heat gear if it becomes a pop culture phenom, kind of like how White Sox hats are popular in certain circles...

But barring that, its not like the Heat are a global image like the Cowboys, the Yankees, etc. Nor do the Heat have the following across the nation like either of those aforementioned franchises.

Yeah, I don't see Fish leaving L.A. either. I think this is just a sad attempt at trying to get what he wants from L.A., which is more money.
