Derrick Henry needs some work

Absolutely he is not one of those. He was drafted to be Johnathon Stewert to Murray's DeAngelo Williams. He will fine in that roll. It makes me wonder how a prime Jerome Bettis or Nigerian Nigtmare would do in those drills.

Jerome Bettis probably killed it as he was known to have great footwork.

Lol..

Tell me if his agility matters when 250 pounds is coming out you like a freight train.

don't underestimate him -- no reason to think he won't be successful--I watched every down of Bama games last year and he found holes, made holes, eluded tacklers, ran over tacklers and outran tacklers.

Henry was never known for his footwork. A north and south one cut runner that will rarely be on the field on 3rd down. If given the opportunity I could see him having 3 to 4 very good seasons. However, once he starts losing speed he will have trouble getting to the 2nd level and breaking tackles with his upright running style. Still a very intriguing prospect though considering his size, straight line speed, and productivity.

Not sure how much time he will get though if Murray is healthy.

I'm betting he probably won't have to apologize for his footwork after he runs over people.

Yeah. Ill base my entire opinion about Henry's NFL career off that little video clip.

It doesn't. Like I said, he will have success simply because he is so big and can really get going downhill. But knowing what we have seen in college, he'll be a guy that will play through a ton of contact because he doesn't have the feet to avoid it as well as others. That style generally leads to shorter careers regardless of how big the RB may be.

But yeah, I agree, those first 3-4 seasons, he'll be a nightmare to deal with.

Yep, supposedly first time he had done the drill on the first day of camp....laughable that people are using this as proof he won't be a good RB. His claim to fame has never been his lateral agility.

Have to love the reductio ad absurdum all on 2 seconds of a drill on the first day of rookie minicamp.

Dumbest thread I've seen.

Especially since Zeke has a video out there where he is hitting cones and slipping on the turf. But hey, we ignore that because reasons...

He looked about the same in that ESPN sports science video. I don't think I've ever seen a back look so uncoordinated with his feet. You're not going to plow over NFL defenders.

I'm one of the ones that liked what we did with Elliot and Smith as opposed to Ramsay and Henry but it's a bit early and silly to let 5 second clip dictate how bad or good a player will be.

Henry sounds a lot like the Giants running back a few years ago, who I think was taken pretty high in the draft. First round maybe?

Yes very similar to Brandon Jacobs. Similar size and straight line speed. Henry does have a little bit more initial quickness.
