should be our pick

as Draft Tec says

Doug Free played well at ROT last year in Columbo's absence and with the top LOT still on the board, why not have the flexibility of 2 athletic young bookends that are interchangeable?

Sure makes game-day decisions of whittling down 53 to 45 easier, in the case of deciding on back-up OL in the case of injuries. This is a case where value equals need and is a fine pick by Dallas

like Canuck said dominant

I surely want this kid

but I think we really have three possibilties

Sherrod
Carimi
T Smith

I could live with any of these guys

but like Draft Tec says

with the top LT still on the board, why not have the flexibility of 2 athletic young bookends that are interchangeable ?

let them have at it at training camp

I'd take Tyron Smith over the other two. He has a much higher ceiling.

For an OL, you could make the case that their floor is more important than their ceiling.

He looked dominant huh? Well that's good. Tell me about a few specific plays you saw where he looked dominant against the Wolverines UNO. I'd like to go back and watch them and make sure i take note of the best ones.

I can understand that. Some times having a solid sure thing is more valuable than having someone with potential through the roof, but may bust.

Assuming Tyron Smith can gain weight, I could see him being the best of the group 4 years down the line. I do think it would take him some time though.

I haven't seen Sherrod play, so I won't say anything about him.

I don't get the Carimi in round 1 love. He seems to me like he's at best a late 1st. He just isn't the most athletic guy, and I question how he will do against speed rushers.

It would be nice to see Jerry make a real effort to fix the oline but I doubt it happens.

Then I doubt the results of 2011 will be much different than the past few years.

Don't mind him, but not at #9. If we drop into the teens and acquire extra picks, he's worth the value there.

If anything, Jerry usually over-reacts when something sabotages a season. Do you remember when he gave that long snapper that gigantic deal? What was unusual was that he didn't over-react last offseason to the Vikings loss. I doubt he makes the mistake of ignoring the OL again this offseason. I'm guessing there will be one FA, two draft picks (one in the first two rounds) and a new OL coach.

Yo tell me about that bowl game UNO. Im trying to watch this on demand. Which plays did you see Sherrod really stand out? You remember any of them, even just one or two where he really dominated his man? I'd like to watch this game sometime today.

I really hope JJ changed his mind about picking OL in the first rd,that policy has left us with the one of worst OL in the league and a lot of expensive FA signings forced on us.

Don't say that. He HAS to if he has ANY sense about him.

I hope we replenish the lines on both sides of the ball and pick up some solid vets for the 2ndary.

Dominant.

Everybody looks dominant against the Michigan defense, its one of the reasons Rodriguez is about to be unemployed.

That said, I do like Sherrod.

I was going to say the same thing about Michigan.

I'd really like to see Harbaugh stay at Stamford.

Michigan feels like career-a-cide type job.

It certainly appeared as if we were ready to take the first round plunge last year with either Maurkice Pouncey or Mike Iupati.

They went in the last teens and helped Dez Bryant slide within reach with a trade up.
