the Jets must be kicking themselves for letting him get away

besides him and Jimmy Smith from back in the day, what other player has a team let get away w/ little fanfare, and has turned out to be pretty good somewhere else?

Thomas Jones is VERY quietly having a good year for the Jets. They don't miss him that much.

Jerome Bettis leaving the Rams and having a very stellar career with Pittsburgh. I know he had one really good year with the Rams but if I remember correctly he was injured a lot, and didn't do much, his next two seasons there and they let him walk (or traded him I can't remember now) to Pittsburgh.

I believe the Giants picked up Ryan Grant from the Jets practice squad also before trading him to the Packers.

Yes, they did. However Grant, due to injuries and whatever else, hasn't been nearly the back this year that he was for 8 games last year. So it remains to be seen, to this point, how effective he'll be over a long haul.

theres no way the Cowboys gave up on Steve Largent is there? B/C i was doing some research and it said that he was drafted by the Oilers.

Anyways, answering the question the Colts letting Marshall Faulk go wasnt a very good move.

I don't recall the Largent/Cowboys connection, either. I do remember his name being tied to the Oilers.

For the Cowboys it would be Jimmy Smith and Todd Christensen as the main guys with a few lesser players as well.

The infamous Buddy Ryan "He only catches touchdowns" Cris Carter.

Keenan McCardell was drafted by the Skins in the 12th round in 1991 bounced to the Browns before having a successful career.
