Really? I was thinking the exact opposite, if it's possible to hate a person more...

Barry kept the Defense up at a high level. It was Ernie Zampese that brought the offense down.

How playoff qb? Is that embarrassing?
He's currently not a "playoff QB." He's a CFL backup QB who is out of the NFL because he lacked self control in multiple areas. There is definitely some embarrassment there.

Here's hoping his life is on track whether his football game is or isn't, ever again.

I hope he makes it too, cause he's not a bad person. People older and wiser than he have made more and greater mistakes and have been given more chances.. No matter what his problems are, he's still better than a third of the starting qb's in the NFL, see (David Carr,Rex Grossman,Gus Frerrote, any qb that plays for the Jets,Niners,Browns,Lions,Vikings,Chargers, and the Cowboys too, etc.)

Talent wise, he may be better than a lot of guys. Risk wise, he might not be.

I've got nothing against the guy. I never did. I didn't think he was good enough to be an NFL starter, but I was on record that I didn't mind him as a backup at all. That last bit of info was always discarded in the old wars.

None of that changes the fact that he threw up the red flags (by his actions) that have caused teams to turn their backs on him. When you have talent (and let's be honest, anyone who makes the NFL does) and you throw it away on unimportant crap it is embarrassing.

Now that's a riot. :laugh2:

I don't judge Carter because I've made my mistakes too. However, even with no drug problem whatsoever, he just isn't a very good QB. His mobility is the only thing he had going for him.

Trust me... I wanted him to succeed badly. I even got in arguments as to why he'd be great and how he was better than Michael Vick. After watching him for a couple of years though, it became apparent that he just wasn't any good.

The thing his supporters always bring up is that he led us to the playoffs in 2003 with a 10-6 record. Well, I have eyes and I watched every snap that year... I can tell you that we won in spite of Quincy. He was a bad QB and the rest of that team... primarily the defense... carried him to that 10-6 record. I can't remember specifics, but I remember seeing that the quarterbacking was a definate weak spot on that club.

He just isn't very good.
