Thought it would be fun to read what some of you did/thought as the drama was going on around 7:30 CST.

I had the War Room Cam on and was more or less just thinking to myself that it was annoying that things were happening so fast that Trent Richardson and his family were still on stage (#3 pick) and the Jaguars had already made Blackmon the #5 pick. When Kalil was announced as the #4 pick, it didn't even cross my mind that Claiborne had just slid out of the top 5.

At that time, I noticed all the activity. At that moment, my brother called. I answered the phone with "Are you seeing what I'm seeing? We can't trade up this high, it'll be crazy expensive." At that moment, I heard on TV an announcement over the speakers at Radio City Music Hall... "The Dallas Cowboys are on the clock."

There was an "OH MY GOD, what are we doing!?!?" moment by me. And then he said the sweetest words I've heard in a while. "Claiborne is still on the board." Amidst all the chaos, I hadn't even realized. The next few minutes were spent hoping and praying that the deal was for Claiborne, and not Barron or Cox. I really only put about a 60% chance on it until I heard Goodell, based on need and all the talk about how much we loved Cox/Barron the last few weeks.

After that I dropped to my knees and did a heckuva self-celebration that made my fiance look at me like I was nuts. What a night.

I was coaching my sons baseball game and watching the draft intermittently with the NFL App.

I saw Cleveland trade up to take Richardson, and next time I checked Dallas was on the clock at 6. I wasn't thrilled. I would have preferred a trade back and stock piling picks.

It took a while to update and shwo the Claiborne pick. At which point I was even less thrilled. I admit to not knowing who Claiborne was, having glossed over the top 10 in most mock drafts to see who they had Dallas taking. I thought he was some total reach.

I was glad to get home and find that it was actually a huge move and almost universally applauded. Not a reach, but I guy I hadn't heard much of because he was never expected to be an option for Dallas.

I would have been happy if they had gone DeCastro at 14, or even traded back a few spots to pick up more picks. But I am equally thrilled to get the consensus best defender in the draft on board.

I was in chat and watching online because of course the satellite had to completely go out during the first day of the draft..

Fully expected to be let down with the Brockers pick. Once we moved up, I was almost positive we were getting Mo, but thought Barron was a possibility, obviously.

Which night Thursday I was packing for this last weekend, Friday I went out and celebrated my daughters Birthday (she turned 11) came home got some sleep got of before the sun rise 5:15am

Hooked up with our troop drove a couple hours unloaded gear and self into a canoe paddled down stream about 7 miles stopped had lunch swam etc. paddled some more we stopped setup camp.

Sunday paddled a few more miles to the pickup location drove back unpacked took a shower then a nap.

No teeth gnashing, people freakin out I just got to read everything that happened.

It was a stress free draft weekend

My best friend had come over to watch the draft with me. I had my laptop to enter all 253 selections into Draft Day 2012 Zone for CZ (THANKS A LOT, HOS! :chainsaw: :laugh1: ).

We were sitting on the couch drinking platinums. He was eating the pork chops my wife had prepared for us before getting out of Dodge (she knows how I am during the draft). My television was fixed to split-screen for NFL Network and ESPN coverage (NFLN audio only/can't stand Kiper's voice).

I'm not sure who slapped the trade on their screen first, but there was a slight delay between the two. In that brief moment, my best friend thought I was stroking out because my head and eyes were going back-and-forth between the two screens 90 miles a minute.

After about ten seconds I screamed, "WHAT THE [self-censored for family friendly website reading : ]

I will leave it at that. Let's just say it was a huge surprise and I initially had a few choice things to say about the trade up. :)

I was with some 6 friends, and we had six 12 packs of beer. My friends were pissed that I had the chat room pulled up and was calling the picks 1-2 minutes before they were announced. I told them to go watch their NHL Game 7s if they didn't want to seriously watch the draft. I went to the bathroom and when I came back my computer was gone. It was hidden under the couch and I didn't want to be a snob so I shut the chat off and closed my computer.

It was far less enjoyable after that.

I was in line to get Brandon Carr's autograph. There was a TV behind him, but I really coudn't see, or hear it. I was just hoping to get his autograph in time for the Cowboys's pick @ 14. All of a sudden, the guy in front of me says "the Cowboys are on the clock". My first thought was...wait, what? Then, I saw that indeed, the Cowboys were on the clock. We both looked at each other and said "Morris Claiborne", and I started getting real giddy. I yelled at Carr.."Carr and Claiborne, baby!". He smiled and gave me a nod. Then, I finished my beer(s).

I had just got off from work from chick-fil-a around 8:15 and I was on my way home when my dad calls me and said dallas traded up so im freaking out because I thought claiborne was already gone then he screams over the phone CLAIBORNE so i was going crazy in the car :laugh2:

i left work early, i told my wife i was coming home early for the day. She wanted me to take her out for dinner. (i work until 11pm so not easy to take the wife out for dinner).

As soon as i got home i put the TV on the draft. I told her to take her time getting ready, she said she was almost ready.

I checked the tv saw pick #5 then told her that i was gona call and make resevatations to some place nice( trying to stall to pick 14).

then i saw Boys on the clock at 6. Then saw Claiborne drafted and then all that followed. Then 15 minutes later i was out the door.

SOOOOOOO glad i didnt have to stall longer form pick 6 to pick 14.

Perfect timing in the Football world.

I was watching with a friend. I saw that we had traded up and I started going crazy... my first thoughts, and first screams out of my mouth was: "DON'T YOU TRADE UP FOR BARRON! DON'T YOU TAKE BARRON! DON'T YOU TRADE UP THAT HIGH TO TAKE BARRON..."

My friend, who likes to push my buttons, says, "You're taking Barron."

I said, "No! We can't. The Cowboys said there's absolutely no way we trade up into the top 10 for Barron..." and then after a split second, I snapped... "OH. MY. GOD... CLAIBORNE. IS. STILL. THERE."

Needless to say my friend was rolling on the floor laughing at me. I can only imagine what I looked like... I do know for a fact I was bouncing up and down on the couch while I was screaming in disgust about Barron...

Then when I realized it was Claiborne... well, I really can't remember much of that... I still can't believe he is a Cowboy, and for such a low price!!!

I actually drove into manhattan that morning to go to the nfl shop and then went to Dave and busters with my fiancé. Came home to watch with my dad who's a huge cowboys fan like myself. So we're watching on nfl network and I come on here quick after Blackmon gets picked and see everyone speaking about our war room going nuts and I hear on the tv the cowboys have traded up to 6. I check and see sdogo saying we're getting Claiborne !!! I literally punched my dad in his arm, got up off my seat and screamed thank you !!!! Needless to say it definitely was a great draft memory

I watched this one alone , though in constant contact with 4 rabid cowboy fans by cell . After the claiborne pick I was in shock. I didnt know what to think or say. It caught me totally off guard. I love the pick, hated giving up the second but realised we were lucky to only give that up. Lost one of my rabid cowboy buddies on that one, cause he is convinced corners are over rated in todays nfl....what ever. Sent the local fire dept to keep him from jumping off the roof on his head. The rest of the day was spent saying who the heck is that? while the remaining 3 fans searched draft books, the internet, and any legal or illegal source to dig up info and you tubes on these guys. Happy to say rabid boy1 resurfaced today in good spirits about the draft. and only took a few tazer burns and a pitbull dog pole to get him straight.

I went to the local Cowboys hangout, a BBQ joint named "Hottie Hawgs." And I was a little bummed, because they told me that their kitchen was closing at 9pm, and I wanted to both watch Dallas's first pick and take some warm food home to my family (Hawgs has amazing brisket for the ATL area)..I figured Dallas wouldn't make it to the clock until 11ish.

So, I put in the order around 8:25 or so, and lo and behold, there is this trade on screen. I say to the guy beside me,

"Looks like Dallas is going to draft."
"You're a Dallas fan? I've been in Atlanta all my life. I think Dallas sucks."

Around this time @Jimmy_Beast was cracking up on Twitter, telling anyone who would listen that he would die laughing if Dallas was about to take Mark Barron.

I made some small talk to the Falcons fan about the Danny White game in the playoffs and then they picked Morris Claiborne.

Pretty soon after that my brisket arrived. Around 9ish, I left for home, with warm BBQ ribs and brisket, a good feeling about the draft. I listened as far as radio would take me, and used wifi based Internet to keep following the picks as I headed home.

Nice trip to a good resto, warm food for the folks, a civil time of day to travel home. Worked for me!

I was sitting at home watching the draft with my wife(who couldn't care less about football, but was hoping for me and the Cowboys to draft a good prospect) when I realized that the Cowboys had traded up to #6. I knew at that moment, that Jerry would deliver Claiborne, to us. I was also surprised that we got him for just a 2nd rounder. Was it the right thing to do? Hell yes! If Jenkins is not going to work out in Dallas, we would be looking for another free agent starter or a replacement in the draft next year. Do we still have question marks on our roster? Yes

I was at a "slow food" restaurant when the Cowboys selected and my friend was following the draft on his iPhone. I only had had two rum and cokes to that point but my brain still went numb. I remember asking the waitress, "Who is Claiborne?".

Me too.

The evening endid with me eating a burger on the floor.:)

Why eat a burger at a table when you can eat it on the floor? I wish I followed my drunkenness up with a burger on the floor.
