Desmond King

Information from Drew Rosenhaus about a pro day work out...seems believable

King is the ideal CB to switch to SS. Great tackler, above average ball skills, very instinctual and makes quick reads.

lacks height And top end speed for a CB.

He'd get torched by almost every WR in the East. But I think he'd be better than church off the bat.

5'11 is lacking height?
Lacking ideal height. 5'11 1/4 is kinda pushing it when ur talking about Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jefferys, Jordan Matthew, Josh Docston, terrelle Pryor. I don't think any of them are under 6'1. Kings vertical is a 34 not great at 5'11, so he isn't going to to be able to fight contested passes.

King is always to fight every contested pass. Good amount of solid corners in this league have been under 6 foot. Revis wasn't 6 foot. Typically they need to be better at press, but King can be a beast in zone in the right scheme. He might hit them so hard they'll forget about their height advantage. Not many corners are as physical as him.

I mean, I don't really like him for us but I think the height thing is overblown, especially when a CB is 5'11.

He had 8 interceptions in 2015. That means he'll be a turnover machine in the NFL.

I'd love to get King in the Second round. Kids from Iowa are never super stars but seem to always be very solid and contribute. He has great instincts and is a competitor.

Wish he'd move to FS and Byron can move to CB. King is the ballhawk who can also be a good punt returner!

How many corners are 6'1 or 6'2? The taller your corners the less hip flexibility, then you're talking about corners prone to getting beat deep or just plain beat. Benter to have a corner who can at least be in the vicinity to break up a pass than one who consistentlying gets beat because he's too tall and doesn't have the flexibility to keep up with talliberal receivers.

I feel like King is the perfect DB for us--and Marinelli.

Not sure he'll be there at 60. Do we pull a Frederick and pick the guy we want--because we can't get him later?
