on ESPN draft special the key word is obviously "desperate"

they are saying parcells is desperate as its his last season coaching, they are saying Jones is desperate as he is getting old and wants another trophy before he is gone.

isnt every player brought in to make a team win? whats your opinion on this, are we desperate to win?

I hate it when they say Parcells is "loading up" for his last year. They make that seem like he's stuffing the team with all these veterans and screwing us for the years after that.

IMO, this team is built for the future just as much as it is built for now. The only positions I see that are old are...

OL, QB, and WR. Patrick Crayton is a good #3, and possibly a #2 for the future.

Since Offensive Linemen are usually playing longer than usual (correct me if I'm wrong), so Flozell should be there for a few more years. So should Fabini. Hopefully, Petitti will develop under the wings of these veterans. Kosier is young and should be playing for a while. Al Johnson is young and should be playing for a while. Rivera's getting old, so we'll need to draft a replacement for him.

So Flozell, Kosier, Fabini, and Johnson should all be here for a few years more.

What I think is laughable is when many Commanders fans ridicule our line, saying that when we bring in Free Agents, we're not letting any chemistry grow. While this may be true, aren't the Commanders just signing Free Agents off the streets every year?

As for QB, this has been beaten over and over again, and you can just check the 5 threads on the first page for our QB situation.

And WR, our older receivers are both in very good shape for their age. We'll draft a WR in this draft, so after one receiver leaves, Crayton will become the #2, and the other receiver will become the #3. Slowly butu surely, we'll make the WR core younger...

i couldnt agree more, i mean parcells almost has this team scoped out perfectly for our future. he has "old" veterans at positions where it is almost necessary to have vets. Bledsoe, Ellis, TG, TO, Flo etc. all these guys are backed by young players and they are here to mold our younger players into the proffessional level. there was a thread "what is parcells biggest accomplishment" or somn like that, in that thread i mentioned the fact that parcells is surrounding our Youth with talented vets who have a good career and this is how a good team is built, in this era atleast.

Yes, the only reason ESPN sees us as an old team is because most of our leaders are in fact...old. Unless I've been living under a rock for a long time, veteran leaders are an important part to the team. ESPN needs to ****...

In this respect, Parcells has been a huge success for us...

am I wrong in thinking like this, but...

shouldn't every owner and head coach be desperate to win it all EVERY SEASON? even if they won the championship the year before?

if not, they will NEVER be considered great...

the owner, the coach, the franchise.

and thats all I got to say about that

desperate...well how many teams ever won the superbowl on accident?

thats only happened 3 times, and those 3 times may have to do with the cowboys 3 super bowl losses. we all know that we were beat by accident.

Jerry Jones was on there and he admitted to being desperate.

I think being 'desperate' to win a Super Bowl and being 'hungry' for a Super Bowl are two different things.

If your desperate you do things out of character. Such as Bill Parcells taking a huge chance on TO.

If your hungry you just keep plugging away by giving it 100% effort every step of the way.

I want the Cowboys to win a SB just as much as the next guy, but if this TO thing blows up in the face of Parcells/Jones they not only don't win the SB but they also look like 'football dummies'.

At that point everyone under the sun will be looking at them saying 'How did you think TO was gonna work when you knew damn well what the guy was about?'

At least if they used the 'hungry' method and didn't win they still have their integrity to fall back on in the end.

I know one thing, this is going to be a season we will never forget!

In response to your question, I'll respond with one of my own:

When was the first, last, or ANY time that ESPN actually had a flippin' clue about what's going on with the Cowboys??

'Nuff said, I think...
