Most should know that Pollard is a good blocker. Some just make that excuse up for why they continued to play a hurt Zeke. But, Pollard was dealing with a foot injury he suffered in December. That's why they played a hurt Zeke, because they were both hurt.

Last season was the first time Pollard carried the ball over 100 times in a season, including college. He's never been asked to carry the load. Why not? Has every coach he's ever had been wrong? Maybe he's not built for it?

As for blocking, it's not that he can't do it. He just doesn't do it as well as Zeke. Pollard is a great complimentary back. Unfortunately, the Cowboys lead back isn't what he used to be. That's why these conversations take place.

To be fair I don't think anyone has declared that Pollard CAN'T block.. I think the argument is that he is not as good at as Zeke which I think most sane people would agree. The question becomes has Pollard improved enough as a blocker for the coaches to trust him with more snaps? To this point the answer has been a clear "NO" but that could change this year. But again, when a mistake in blitz pickup could end the season of your highest paid player, most coaches are going to lean on what they know over what they think they know.

Pollard has put on a lot of weight since college. I am not convinced he can’t carry it 15-18 times per game

The only time he started and carried the load, he broke one and ended up with a fine game. He should be getting more touches.

He was getting like 2 YPC until he had a busted play on defense as to why he broke the long run.

But yes, he should get more touches, but more in the passing game especially. Get him more in open space. That is where he can be more dangerous.

Or that the FO doesnt play Pollard more because he cant block or that Dak will get killed.

Gotta love this guy as he goes around dispelling many of the myths that people hold onto in defense of players they like or players they dont.

Another worthless thread by you. You must be so lonely with no friends.
Why don’t you wish Zeke a Happy Birthday instead of crying all the time?

Yeah what stood out about that game was how ineffective we were running the ball until under 8 minutes left in the game. Up to that point Pollard had 9 carries for 18 yards. Then he went 5,6, and 40 to essentially seal the game. Which was good but it highlighted the feast or famine nature of his game to that point. He needs to be more consistently productive and he has certainly improved in that regard but if he's going to be the lead dog at some point he's going to have to do it more consistently. There's no getting around that. Against a good team 9 for 18 means you're down double digits and throwing it every down at that point in the game and those late game totes against a tired defense never happen.

This is what the Joe the fan don't understand. It's also why Pollard is perfect in the position he's in where he's a compliment and not featured.

Zeke was hurt for 12 weeks and Pollard was gimpy for two. Im not buying that Pollard was too hurt to play all of December.

Shouldnt the Cowboy have rested Zeke against the Eagles knowing he would be featured the next week playing SF in the first round?

An occasional block is good, but at his size, he shouldn't take that beating. It'll wear him down.

NO NO..............Zeke apologists have been claiming that pollard is a terrible blocker and this was the reason he doesnt get more of a role.

Who said anything about carrying a full load?

Most the NFL is a RB by committee. Some with two guys splitting the load.

YOu give the better back the carries he can handle and then give the rest to the other guys.

Pretty simple stuff. Or you go with the hot hand approach. AGain, simple.

But keeping your more explosive, better back on the bench isnt working. Zeke is now breaking down, slowing down, and isnt getting the job done.

You aint making sense. Play a hurt player because you dont want to play a hurt player? Dude come on.

Showing a play or two of blocking doesnt mean he can do it all game ever game all season. Im not saying he cant....because guess what.....he never has...not in nfl or ncaa. Your cocksure opinion has no basis in reality. Goes for zeke hater cowboyroy too.
Tony injured in limited backup role....gives you such grand confidence. What in the.....

RB's are paid to run and catch first.

You have said over and over again that Pollard doesnt get more of a load because he is a poor blocking back.

Which is total and complete BS. You are using as an excuse again right now.

Carrying the load is not the issue. Carrying more of it is.

That is a straight up lie. You are so consumed with zeke hate you lost your mind.
Zeke fans dont hate tony. Almost all of them admit decline in zeke perforamce and want more tony.

Better unscrew yourself private.
