I think they used to be able to possess a legal shotgun in my state. I'm not certain that applies anymore.

I live outside baltimore in the burbs but I do have a lot of low income section 8 housing. It is also a hobby.

I assume that you are surprised about a gun on each floor. MD does not issue CCW regularly. You never know when someone may try and be brave. Since I have young child I do not carry in the house so to be as prepared as possible I have small safes that site between the studs in the wall with 4 digit combo at least this way if something were to go down and I am in the basement I have options open to me since I do not carry around the house.

Yeah, it was for hunting purposes. I don't know if it still applies.

In Maryland anything is possible, I have heard stories of stories where you have folks pretending to be cops kicking in doors. Better safe than sorry. But I guess you find this odd? If I did not have a small child around that likes putting her hands on everything I would carry around the house. As the saying goes, "When seconds count the police are minutes away."

I live less than two miles where a college student killed and ate part of his room mates heart and brain. My neighbor got beat down at a movie theater because he would hand over his wallet. Maryland lets the thugs run wild.
