Check it out chaps.
McCaffrey 5'11" 205 pounds 4.49 in the 40 (from three sources)
Vaughn 5'5" 179 pounds 4.46 in the 40 (Pro Day)

But egads! Watching Vaughn on film reminds me a lot of McCartney's straight-ahead style.
Smaller the Vaughn chap he is but seemingly lethal.

I am not big on this pick at all I don't think he will make the 53 so at best he ends up on the PS. He's slow, short, and light, can't pick up blitz and you can basically tackle him with one arm.

I do think it's cool they did his dad a solid and drafted him. It's a good story.

Led all of fbs in yards last season. He’s shifty and quick in pads. But this is the nfl. It’s hard to say if he will translate the same. I think everyone on here is hopeful. Would be such a great story.

A year in the weight room, I wonder how much more mass he could put on without affecting his agility. If he could get to 190 that would look better on paper anyway. That said, I like the pick A TON. I think it's totally possible for someone like him to make it in the NFL.

Lol…that about as ignorant a statement I’ve seen. At least do some research.

He can split the smallest holes and won't get caught in the open field.

Love, love, LOVE this pick!

The change of direction that this guy can do is instant and lethal. Watch highlights of Deuce and then watch Gibbs. Same type of player, but Gibbs is taller and cannot change direction like Deuce can.

Considering the level of nepotism in this franchise, I find it a little difficult to fully accept this "feel good" story.

This may open me to extensive criticism but can anyone really believe that some skepticism is unjustified?

His father evaluated hundreds of college playes but refused to evaluate him......which means one of his underlings had to do it. I wonder how they ended up grading Deuce. Well, he did get drafted.

I think he is worth the 6th round pick. Its a gamble he is undersize, but it didn't hurt him in the college level as for production and he ran over alabama with over 100 yards. If he can do that with a team that is nearly across the board lower in skill, if he has teammates equal in skill he can cause some damage. So he is for sure an interesting prospect and RB position is a spot where he can stick at considering we got our star who is coming off injury and no one really behind him.

Did you actually check him out, particularly his performance history?

He played a lot of football. He’s not just a neat story.

Brugler’s take.
A three-year starter at Kansas State, Vaughn was the featured weapon in offensive coordinator Collin Klein’s scheme as the coaches used creative ways (jet sweeps, slot, etc.) to get the ball in his hands. The FBS leader in all-purpose yards (1,936) in 2022, he leaves Manhattan as one of the best players in school history, finishing No. 2 in all-time rushing yards (3,604) behind only Darren Sproles. Vaughn has been the same height since his freshman year of high school and has a keen understanding of how to hide behind blockers and use his low center of gravity to his advantage. He might not have elite, top-end speed, but he rarely runs in a straight line, always drifting and creating difficult angles for tacklers.
