Had no reason to be sitting this game out. I understand sitting out starters, but Vaughn isn't even considered a second string on our depth chart for the preseason, he's a 6th round pick that's proven nothing. I just think it's ridiculous that they gave him off

He is, unfortunately for you, already made the team and will get PT against the Giants. Nothing to prove for you in particular, so lighten up Frances. Just root for him when they go up against the Giants this week, and control this juvenile behavior.

They sat out pretty much everyone who already had made the team (in their eyes) and played those who they felt either needed reps or were on the bubble. Vaughn wasn't the only depth player to sit out. You had players like Hendershot and Bell not in there, etc.

I did like seeing Joseph and Mazi out there even though I believe both have made the team. They needed the reps. Schoonmaker also.

Vaughn sitting also gave us a chance to take a long look at Luepke, to hopefully determine that he should be kept.

I don’t like the way we handled preseason. We played a QB the entire game tonight who we’re going to cut. Vaughn definitely needed to play. He never even got to play against some of the better players in preseason. I’ve never seen us bubble wrap players like this. Too afraid to play a rookie sixth round pick.

Davis was fighting for a roster/PS spot. Mazi had a bad game last week and they are still working on getting him to fire off the ball quicker. Whether you like it or not, this staff believed Deuce didn't have anything left to prove. Other players were treated the same way. For example, Tolbert and Turpin didn't play and they are the fourth and fifth receivers.

That's almost every team nowadays. Honestly preseason means nothing anymore. If you listen to the people in the know the joint practices are way more valuable.
