Had no reason to be sitting this game out. I understand sitting out starters, but Vaughn isn't even considered a second string on our depth chart for the preseason, he's a 6th round pick that's proven nothing. I just think it's ridiculous that they gave him off

Dallas has plans for Vaughn. No need to play him. Hes proven his worth this pre-season.

That's almost every team nowadays. Honestly preseason means nothing anymore. If you listen to the people in the know the joint practices are way more valuable.

A lot of teams are doing the same thing, but there are still plenty of teams giving their starters at least a few snaps in the preseason. In my opinion live game reps are the most valuable. You need to face some real bullets to be fully prepared.

It makes even less sense playing him. RBs are plug and play. He wouldn't even be running behind any linemen he's going to play with week 1. You gain nothing by playing him.

Depth chart issued in preseason means very little. They frequently make those things based on seniority and draft position.

Where Deuce is on that means nothing.

He is going to play a big part in the offense this year. I don’t see any reason to risk him in the last PS game.

I have no problem with it, he securely has his spot. Today was all about evaluating Malik and Luepke to see what they would do with them. Hard to do that with Vaughn playing too.

Davis was fighting for a roster/PS spot. Mazi had a bad game last week and they are still working on getting him to fire off the ball quicker. Whether you like it or not, this staff believed Deuce didn't have anything left to prove. Other players were treated the same way. For example, Tolbert and Turpin didn't play and they are the fourth and fifth receivers.

Yep. Guys that are locks didn't play tonight with a few exceptions.
