Deunta Williams, went undrafted cause he blew out his knee in the bowl game he played in, hasn't been on a team and i really haven't heard of him. He was considered to be a 1 st. round if not for the injury, many people on here wanted us to select him before injury.

He was one of my favorite players at UNC. I really thought he would be a player. Sucks.

good to see that he realized it was over and has moved on; too many try and hang on after its all over. What is going on with TO right now is pathetic; he needs to hang it up.

Kind of reminds me of Justin Beriault. Man think of where we would be at safety if he worked out.

I disagree....he has always been a football player, play until you absolutely cannot.....so what if he doesnt fit into the publics image of what he should do. Who cares if he has to settle for the Arena League....at least he is still doing what he loves, playing football.

I listened to a radio interview with Deunta Williams in early November.

He said he was granted disability for the right foot injury he suffered in the 2010 Music City Bowl.

Williams said when tackling Tennessee TE Luke Stocker, his right foot turned from 12:00 to 7:00. His right fibula broke in the ankle joint and the injury caused nerve damage.

The nerve damage is the problem.

That is sad to hear. I had hopes of him entering this years draft or at least being able to sign on as a free agent. I'm glad he is looking at this career ending injury in a positive light. I added him on my facebook page and he seems very content and excited about his alternate career opportunities. Wishing him the best going forward.

How does that remind you of Beriault? If i recall, Beriault had a degenerative knee problem. Williams blew out his fibula in his ankle and caused permanent nerve damage. Williams proved much more in college than Beriault ever proved.

Also, Beriault wasn't really that good.

I wasn't aware of the nerve damage. I sort of wish he'd give it one more go but, I guess he simply can't and I admire him not sulking and going full force w/ his plan b.

I'll never question another kid for wanting to come out early...

TO is a disaster right now. He's broke. After all of those huge contracts, explain to me how you end up being broke.

My feelings exactly.

If you can play at any type of level of football, and want to do so, then you absolutely should. I see nothing wrong with it.
