I'd love to see Cowboys pick up another RB in the mid-rounds. The guy I've been targeting is Jamal Williams from BYU, Joe Williams from Utah and De'Veon Smith from Michigan.

What guys would you consider?

Those names will be fine. Don't exactly eat them to get much pt anyway.

•Want a Day 3 guy to keep an eye for the Cowboys? Running back Donnel Pumphrey (San Diego State) told the media that he met with the club Wednesday night. Pumphrey is the NCAA's all-time leading rusher and while at the Senior Bowl looked very comfortable returning punts when put in the drills. Team could be looking at him as a replacement for Lance Dunbar.

Don't know a lot about him but Stanley Williams put up some nice numbers and some tape looks good.

His "real" name is Boom and he's underrated. Played at Kentucky and ran behind an average at best line with a below average qb and receivers against very good sec comp and excelled.

I'm a Kentucky fan and would love if we'd get one of this underrated players one time. I Wanted Cobb, Trevathon, and Woodyard.

If his head is screwed on right, Joe Williams of Utah would be a great day 3 pick.

Agreed. I think he's coming out of his understandable funk (7-year old sister died from an apparent misdiagnosis). Nice and compact muscular frame, some shiftiness in the hole and good speed. Reminds me a bit of DeAngelo Williams.

Aaron Jones UTEP - Senior year 1773 yds 7.7! average on a bad UTEP team. 5'9" 208 ran a 4.56

Jeremy McNichols BSU 1709 yds 5.4 average, good receiver caught 103 balls during his three years at Boise. Was also a good KR as a Freshman when Ajayi was the the main guy. 5'9 214 ran a 4.49 40.

Both of guys could last to round 4 and could be every down backs behind Zeke.

Pumphrey is a stud as a Lucky/Dunbar replacement but I would not want him as the primary backup to Zeke.

I just don't see how Pumphrey would serve in this offense. If you remember, a lot of folks complained about how much we kept Dunbar in to pass protect on third down. Now imagine a 186 lb Pumphrey trying to pass block a 215 lb safety, let alone a 250 lb linebacker.

Dunbar also had utility in that he plays on coverage units. I don't foresee that with Pumphrey.

James Conner from Pitt looked like a first round talent before he got cancer. I haven't heard much about him since his recovery.

Watching the combine workouts, Joe Williams and De'Veon Smith both caught my eye. I think they both have a chance to be effective players.

Connors stated he's willing to switch to LB if necessary, should keep him as short yardage runner and lead blocking fullback instead. Like the passion, leadership and physicality he plays with. Definitely a RKG. Zeke can be the hammer and connors can be the bigger hammer, just smash teams to smithereens.
