Devin McCourty has already watched film with Bill Belichick

After New England selected him with the 27th pick in the first round of the NFL draft, Rutgers cornerback Devin McCourty said he already has a sense for what Patriots coach Bill Belichick looks for in a player.
McCourty got that sense spending time with Belchick last month on Rutgers' campus.
"We had about an hour and watched some film," McCourty said, per Mike Reis of ESPNBoston.com. "Just spoke for a little while. It was a real generic conversation and he told me some things on film, just watching, that helped me out as far as a player."
McCourty might not be a starter as a rookie, but he said he's looking forward to competing. And at the very least, McCourty, who blocked seven kicks in college and returned a kickoff for a touchdown, will make an immediate impact on special teams.
"I'm just a guy that comes to play every day," he said. "I just feel like I'm a guy that is going to compete every chance he gets, whether it's playing defense at corner or playing on special teams. I think it's just been my ethic ever since I got to college as a redshirt freshman, working hard to [earn] my way into the lineup."
