What's everyone's take on this season of Dexter?

It's not taking a hold of me like the previous two seasons have. I don't know if it's the lack of him going after people in every episode, the who Jimmy Schmits (sp) angle or what.

Been slow and I think it is because of what you have said, he has only went after two people so far.

However I imagine it will pick up soon.

They're spending a lot of time developing this family angle with Dex. Something big will happen with that this season. Slowly drawing us in.

Not to mention, after the whole BHB thing, I'd imagine that he's being more cautious.

At some point, you know Smits has to die, too.

Yeah his whole moral re-evaluation is draggin' this season down for me. I expected a one-kill-per-episode quota outta the guy!

I like angry knife wielding, wrap-you-in-plastic-and-cut-you-up Dex.

You know, though, in actuality a character like Dex would most probably display even more horrific tendencies than shown. Be it the homoerotic Dahmer aspect or the cannibalistic Gein aspect. You don't go into a routine of systematically cuttin' up humans without taking a next step. It's about power over the victim. So I've always thought his method was TV Tame. Dude would be gobblin' testies or makin' skin shoes or sumthin', if not blowing up at and taking out aggression on innocent people.

The family angle is interesting though. The "Iceman" Richard Kuklinski was known as being a devoted and loving family guy at home. He killed a guy on Christmas night on the auspices that the victim owing him money disturbed his time at home with his wife and kids.

Well it's all fiction...

But I guess that's why Dex's dad invested so much into helping him control that side. he knew it would creep up sooner or later... and I still suspect it might, depending on how long this show goes.

I just think if something ever does happen to Rita and the kids (or maybe even Deb or Batista) that it could send him spiraling into that guy.
