I stayed up and watched it after the game last night. Pretty good.

I really thought he was going to killer her or she would be killed by some other means.

Once the kids said they wanted to stay with Dexter over the summer I knew for sure she would be gone. I imagined she would be gone anyway as they normally do not keep guest roles beyond a season.

I was expecting for him to accidentally hit something in the water when they were on the boat heading home and she was smiling on the front of the boat. I thought he would hit something, she would bounce, fall out, hit her head or get hit by the propellers and that would be that.

Now it will be interesting to see how things progress from here. He killed the other woman from an earlier season and this girl leaves so where does he go from here. We also got Quinn who still has the Photos (I thought that Dex would have broke back into Quinn's apt and took them but no dice) So does he and Quinn keep up the game or does Quinn just drop it to stay with Deb and to know that he and Dex are even since he did not match the blood on Quinn's boot.

Something else that interested me. Because Jordan had them in that area and Dex did not have time to prepare the crime scene (plastic) it helped out so it would not tie the killing to other killings from the past. Just kind of interesting to me in order to keep Deb, or others besides Quinn, from suspecting him or past crimes.

Now something completely unrated...Masuka (sp?) had a hottie for a date at the birthday party.

I'm sure he had to leave soon as his hour was about up...probably too cheap two pay for two :laugh2:

Dexter has more lives than a cat.

Not surprised she said she was going to leave.

He kills because it's in his DNA.

She killed only for revenge.

Can't say I'm disappointed she's leaving...cause I prefer Dexter on his own with no emotional ties when he kills.

Wonder how long Quinn will be off his back for the favor.

Loved Peter Weller in his part...you just wanted him to be killed.

Can't believe it's going to be 10 months till the next one.

Living up to Lithgow and S4 was never really a possibility, but I feel this season was as big of a letdown as S3. I'm sure the writers expected it to feel like a journey with Dexter dealing with his grief, finding new love, and growing into someone who now has hope that he could one day be normal, but instead it kind of just feels like we're back where the season began.

There was too much peripheral stuff going on this season that either didn't matter, or was ignored in the end. The Santa Muertes storyline was basically pointless, and I'm all for doing things for love but there is no way Quinn would let Dexter off the hook for a murder just because he cares about Deb.

Also, I think they expected Deb letting Dexter and Lumen go to be a big surprise to people, but I think everybody saw it coming from 5 miles away.

I liked finale but do wish lumen would have stayed on. I like julia stiles as an actress and thought she was excellent this season. I feel bad for dexter that he can't keep a chick.

Sucks that the next season is ten months away but my anticipation will be built up by then.

haha. i felt that the boat trip back to land after they disposed of jordan chase was too good to be true. i was just waiting for he to fly off or get sniped from the coast.

I disliked a lot about this season, but overall feel it wasn't horrible. They missed out on a LOT of potential greatness here.

I put it in the back slightly ahead of season 3.

We all knew Lumen was going to be gone at the end of the season, and I was pretty sure she wasn't going to die. It was obvious they were going for the angle that SOMEONE had to know about Dexter and live.

My biggest problem with the show (and series in general) is there is too much massively coincidental stuff happening sometimes, and way too often. How many times have we had a storyline changing car crash now? How many times has Dexter been caught off guard by the villain and put in hopeless situation only to get out of it due to random luck and stupidity on the villains part? It's ok to do a few times, but they really just abuse the hell out of it now.

Overall it's still the best show I've ever seen, but it could be so much better. They could all be as good as Season 1/4.

This season however left some gaping holes I think. First being Jordan chase. Sure Deb knows he is dead, but no one else does. Why are they calling the case closed? There is NO reason to assume Chase is dead. Deb said to Dexter "at least we would know he was dead" indicating that she did not let anyone else know she found the body, and also indicating no one found any evidence of the body. There should be a massive man hunt going for Jordan Chase.

The car dexter crashed in the woods. He cut his forehead. It happened just outside of the crime scene. No blood/hair (Of Dexters') found in the car that just happened to be stolen from the Liddy crime scene?

I'm really really disappointed that Debra let them both go without looking at all, the Season could have ended on epic levels of win if Dexter had been revealed to her, though I guess they are leaving that for next season (Director said it would happen). She finds out about Dexter in the first book, so I've been waiting for it to happen in the series. The books got HORRIBLE after book 2 though, wow.

I would have settled for a little more depth in Quinn's thank you to Dexter, a more "I know that you know that I know" look or interaction.

Oh well. Nothing will live up to Season 1 and 4 but it's still the best show on TV.

And as for Masuka's date. Was that butt even real? It put Kim Kardashian's to shame. Seriously as soon as I saw it I was like *** is that.

This will end this great series...

He is probably now hooking up with Julia Stiles. :laugh2:

I didn't realize she was an Ivy leaguer graduating from Columbia University.

As for th show, I didn't care much for the way the season ended. (I avoided this thread yesterday because I hadn't watched it yet)

I enjoyed the finale, but it's too bad Lumen couldn't have hung around for a few episodes next season. I mean, I expected her to be gone, but still.

This season took entirely too long to get rolling. Once it got going, it was great, but the first few episodes really didn't go anywhere.

I enjoy Dexter, but it's like the guilty pleasure show, and not a genuinely well written one. True Blood is in the same vein. You really need to watch The Wire, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, and some other great shows if you want to see TV shows at their best. =)

Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall are calling it quits.

The Dexter stars, who play brother and sister on the Showtime series, are ending their two-year marriage, their reps tell Entertainment Weekly.

"Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce," the reps say in a joint statement.

Damn sure wouldn't be his soon to be ex-wife. (Jennifer Carpenter) Her acting skills suck something fierce. Not sure how she got the job in the first place.
