The new series has not started yet and I have not seen the official start date/time for the debut of the new series.

However, for those that have on demand ability with your cable provider and have show time.

Click on the series category and Dexter... there are a few short clips about the upcoming new show.

Looks to be very interesting.

Here is a brief idea of what it is about.

A guy works with the police (miami I think) in forensics. His job is to analyze blood spatter.

However he is also a serial killer.

The twist of this is he only kills other serial killers the police are after.

So the idea (although maybe not original as I seen a movie with a similar theme before) seems like something that could turn out to be interesting.

Not sure if it will have staying power but I intend to check it out...if I ever get around to finding out when it comes on.

I DVR'd it last night...looks like it's on Fri, Sat, Sun showing schedule each week for the latest show...it had a 10 and 11 PM showing AZ time.

Sounds interesting. I don't have Showtime, but it sounds like they have some good shows. I saw a couple of episodes of Weeds and thought it was good. I have now caught Dead Like Me on HDNET and think it was pretty good. Perhaps I need to pick up Showtime as well and just waste even more time watching TV.

The lead actor played David on Six Feet Under and did a great job.

Dexter's a great show, but it's on Boomerang every night at nine eastern.

I still don't know how he hid that enormous laboratory in such a small house.

I watched the DVR tonight, great first show, very interesting idea. Dark and funny, sick and twisted...I think Showtime has a winner.

So far so good.

A little odd in it's pacing but it may take a few shows to get it into a flow.

Is it me or is the Cop who thinks dexter is a creep just not working yet?

Not sure if it is the writing for that character or the acting. Just seems forced or over the top.

Same with Dexter's sister...not sure I care for that role or the actress playing it.

First shows are always like that, because of the set up. Plus I think all the supporting characters seem a bit weird on purpose...thus leaving a serial killer as the most "normal" character in the show.

The true storyline looks like a game of cat and mouse between Dex and the bloodless killer. Which is repeated with Dex and his pray, Dex and the Lt. with the hots for him, Dex and the cop who suspects him, Dex and his damaged girlfriend, and his sister and her pursuit of being a cop.

If I were to predict an outcome to the series, Dex kills the cop who hates him and his sister figures out who and what he is and arrests him.

I saw the pilot episode last night and it was pretty enjoyable. The story is definitely not cookie cutter and the acting from the lead actor was very good. As Brain said, I didn't like the antagonist cop but maybe that'll get better.

Just finished watching this show (all episodes) and it is now the #1 show on my list. Easily, IMO, the best show on TV.

Dexter is my hero.

It really is one of the best new shows out there IMO.

I have gotten around to being ok with the Cop who is on to dexter although his role could be a little better.

However that sister role is just killing me. I hope they either change it up some or get a different actress to play in that role. Right now that is the weak spot of the show IMO.

We love this show. Michael C. Hall is brilliant, as he was in Six Feet Under.

Side note: While I think it's definitely at least the 2nd best show on tv now, the best show has to be The Wire on HBO. ;)

I have yet to watch that one or the sleeper cell one.

The Wire is awesome. My suggestion is to watch it from Season 1, so you can get all the background on the characters. The focus is different every season, but the same characters are involved.

While you really can start from anywhere, it's so much better to start from Season 1.

Yes that is my problem.

I miss a first season of something and I just don't mess with it afterwards.

Sometimes they have the whole first seasons on the demand channels but I usually forget and miss them.

I do like catching a whole season on demand though, very nice not having to wait for the next week.

I think I did that for the first season, and possibly part of the second season, of entourage.

I think the cop's role is gonna be bigger next season. They had to establish that he is an a-hole and that he sees through Dexter. Next season will probably have a lot to do with Dexter trying to do his "thing" and avoid the cop at the same time.

What is the cop's name anyway? I suck at remember names.

That dude should win some kind of award for the great acting he's done on the show.

Dexter was my favorite show in 2006. I can't wait to see what they do in '07 because the plot line and character development in the first season was unbelievable.
