I watched last night and as always the acting was superb however I have a gripe. Why do they always put these cliff hangers at the end of the episodes that you know Dex is going to get out of?

Yeah, it sucked when Doakes died, he was my 2nd favorite character.

I thought the series would go down hill after he died but Jimmy Smits did a great job in Season 3.

I may have to give this show another crack. I liked the few episodes I saw of it but I was really turned off by the whole thing when I read the first book. If i recall there are actually 3 or 4 books in the series, which is what this TV show then became based off of, but the first book was just...boring. I just had to force myself to finish it and I think that adversly effected my desire to watch the show.

If i recall there are actually 3 or 4 books in the series, which is what this TV show then became based off of, but the first book was just...boring. The first half of book 1 and the first half of season 1 are near identical. After that, they completely separate into their own entities. Some of the character names from the books are used, but the characters are completely different. People die in the books that live in the show, and vice-versa.

Season 2 and 3 essentially don't even happen in the books, book 2 doesn't happen in the series.

The TV series is an extremely rare case of a show being BETTER than the books it was made after.

BP and I were talking about the last episode the other day.

I threw out the idea of Deb and Matsuki going out for drinks and ending up in bed. That next morning would be classic.

I didn't see the reporter being Trinity's daughter at all. That threw me big time.
