The last time he played a season 2017 he led the league in drops, the year before he was 1 drop away from tying for that honor. Why would you think he would get 5 targets a game when the Cowboys have Cooper and Cobb now? There would no guarantee that he would even start let alone get many targets. There is no way I would ever want to see him in a Cowboys uniform again.

Depends on how the other TEs and WRs are doing. If we're still lacking receiving threats in the red zone, I'm for it.

I wouldn't rule out Dez to fill a demonstrated need. That's not just Dez. That's whoever is available. But Dez does have the advantage of time with Dak.

You don't seem to understand Dez is not someone the FO would consider under any circumstances. He's not good for the locker room and even worse for Dez on the field. What you are suggesting is a complete "NO GO!". You keep worshipping him if you want to but the Cowboys have moved on.

Surprised that I’m not completely against this.

However, what your suggesting is that Dez Bryant could be re-signed to fill, basically, the job that Rico Gathers was being groomed for (short-yardage, “throw it up, I’ll catch it”, third-down/red-zone specialist).

If Dez would sign for Rico money, I’d be TOTALLY onboard.
