Found this and thought it was interesting. I suspected that this was the case due to his legal actions and cryptic tweets he had written but now he has out and said it.

I am copying and pasting to edit out the expletive.

@JJT_ESPNDallas stop trying to help your friend David wells out by writing ******** the drama is over....Dez Bryant run his own business

This is from @DezBryant his official twitter handle.

Wells indeed uses the press and Dez doesn't appreciate his efforts.

It's disingenuous of JJT at best to deflect from Wells when he is obviously the go to source for all of this. I would be pissed too yelling profanities if I had found out a confidante was going to the press with my personal rehab schedule. He even name drops Wells one more time in the article.

JJT, deceit is unethical.

From a Cowboys standpoint, they just want a structure in place to keep him out of trouble. I can't see anything wrong with that considering all the prior events that have been made public.

I think from a Cowboys standpoint if Bryant leaves then Wells role in all this needs to be addressed.

Quotes from the article with a clear agenda of bashing Dez.

"Bryant doesn't want to hear that. Too bad.

That's the reality of his situation."

"Any conversation about off-the-field issues tends to anger Bryant because all he wants to discuss is his on-field performance"

"But Bryant is the same guy who went on a loud profanity-laced tirade through the club's Valley Ranch training facility last December upon discovering a reporter was working on a story about his life off the field."

This is what journalism is becoming now. JJT is one of the worst reporters/"journalists" in the local media. He's clearly taking ahots at Dez through the article and the whole thing seems disingenuous. I'm glad he called him out. Reporters need to be held accountable for the crap they spew and frankly he deserved more.

Well JJT on twitter won't deny that Wells is a source.

He went and called Dez a 'pos' too. Real classy guy.

Not really if the article is true about the Cowboys being content with franchising him back to back. It looks like they want to protect their investment and having a "structure" in place is their prerequisite.

Early reports were the Cowboys were afraid to hand over big guaranteed $$ to Dez, and the JJT article clearly still portrays that. The Cowboys will sleep better at night when they are paying him $13-14M per year with a system in place that will keep him out of trouble. Whether that is needed is a whole other debate since Dez has been free of trouble - publicly - years ago. It is unclear what "Dez Rules" he has been operating under the last few years and what will be made public.

Again from the article, the Cowboys might prefer Wells to provide the structure but even they concede that even Roc Nation could provide those services. As long as those services are in place the Cowboys would be happy. JJ is quoted in there, and it clearly states his involvement in all this and what he has done to help him. How many owners spend a good portion of their time and resources with their star players? I seem to recall the comparisons of Bryant vs Blackmon and who had the better career because of the differences in how their respective organizations handled them.

From a business standpoint it all makes sense, given Bryant's prior history. As fan, I feel for Bryant because his past is haunting him, but I think back to when the famous napkin and TO story came out and it sinks in.

I'm not saying that the club is doing anything wrong. I'm just saying that if Bryant does leave that the tactics that Wells is using to leverage Dez and the club through the press should be scrutinized.

This stuff is so juvenile. One thing for sure....money doesn't make you a better decision maker and access apparently makes you sillier. Gee whiz wally.

I would not be surprised if Wells was given the green light from someone within the organiation to pressure Bryant to stay with him. Heck, someone is feeding Mike Fisher false information that the "Dez Rules" don't even exist, but it's pretty clear that they've been in place since he first arrived at VR.

If Dez Bryant leaves, someone much higher than Wells will need to be scrutinized.
