Dez bryant in highschool

I am not a football guy (i.e. coach, scout), just a fan setting in front of a computer. After watching several highlights videos of Dez, I can say I have seen few receivers with the ability to locate the ball in air and catch it at the peak of their jump as he does. Randy Moss and Chris Carter come to mind. If Dez’s production is anywhere as close to this guys, we are in for a treat.

How the hell he fell to us I can’t understand. Any how, there loss our Lombardi’s. :laugh2:

Yeah I know they're pretty nuts about high school football down south. The schools up here are pretty terrible.

Even Joe Flacco's school team was horrible. We play them every year as they are about 5 minutes from us and he was the only talent on that team. Amazing he even got recruited somewhere.
Well to put it in perspective I played against Vince Young, Cedric benson and Martellus Bennet in high school.

Towards the end, I started feeling bad for all the DBs who were getting abused..

For the DBs in the uniform that looked liked the Jets, I felt real good.

In my mind, he was abusing Revis Island :D. I wonder if it was just in my head in which it played out that way.

ha wow. the most notable people around here are Flacco and Jonny Dempsey, who signed with the Bengals as an UDFA, who's from my hometown and high school. can't imagine having that type of talent around my area.

I see that South Jersey is in the house. And you are so right about Audubon and Flacco. Delaware should be credited for finding and diamond in the rough!

Bottom line is the kids amazing his ability to track the ball is unlike anything I have ever seen and you guys see that one handed catch:bow:

Yeah, he actually went to Pitt first but was sitting behind TYLER PALKO so he transferred to Delaware so he could play. Bet Pitt wishes they didn't let him get away.

Dez has been a man-child since he was in high school. I practiced on the field with him occasionally when I was a freshman and I've never seen anything like him.

He did special teams, threw the ball, and played defensive back in prevent situations. I believe I remeber him getting a few interceptions. The highlight video above was from his junior year.

He does not have a great 40 time but once he puts the pads on it seems that his speed jumps from a 4.6 to a 4.3. Too big to tackle but also too fast to catch.

I'm one of Joe's friends that went to high school with Dez

I don't know the current numbers but in the late Nineties almost 35 percent of the NFL was born in Texas.

Wow. The long TD at the 4:07 mark... Just, wow.

I thought the catch at about 2:42 was better. The season cannot start quickly enough.

why on earth did Dez go to OK st? At the very least he should have remained in Texas and went to UT, if not one of the other power houses in the country..OK St?

Let's hope his earlier successes translate over to the present and future.

I been wondering the same thing when he got offers from Alabama and Oklahoma But he chose Oklahoma state

Well he can definitely catch the ball. He's explosive as well. That's where the return ability is coming from. We are in for a treat.

Romo is going to have to learn to trust him to come down with the ball though. Romo is not going to, from the start anyway, make some of those throws.

Amazing. Simply amazing. I agree with all you guys above.

That catch where he had to stop and dive back toward the los to snatch the ball about a foot off the ground showed outstanding body control!
