Dez Bryant-WR- Player Mar. 26 - 8:30 pm et

Amid concerns that he's been out of shape and weighed in at 225 pounds at last month's Combine, Dez Bryant says he is now down to 220.

Bryant played at 215 pounds in 2008, when NFL Network's Mike Mayock said he was the "best receiver prospect I've ever seen." "Anyone who knows Dez knows he's a great kid," Oklahoma State QB Zac Robinson added. "I'd take him on my team any day." Bryant, disturbingly, revealed that Dallas (drafting at No. 27) is the lone team to schedule him for a private workout so far.

Dez Bryant-WR- Player Mar. 26 - 7:38 pm et

NFL Network's Mike Mayock mentioned on Total Access Friday evening that Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant is his No. 3 overall player in the draft.

Oklahoma DT Gerald McCoy is Mayock's No. 1, and Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh is No. 2. Bryant, the best on-field wideout prospect since Calvin Johnson, could slip in the draft if he runs in the mid-4.5s at next week's Pro Day. That could also make him a Randy Moss-like steal for a lucky team in the 20s.

no, I havent read what mickey wrote..ill do that now..i would definitely take this kid at 27 if he is available

does it really matter, he would have to fall off the face of the earth to get to us at 27:p:

I think teams are waiting after his work out this coming tuesday to schedule his visit. I fully expect Dez to have more work outs and visits for several teams after his pro-day.

Wow. That's exactly what I said a couple weeks ago. About the Calvin Johnson thing that is. If we take him at 27 I wouldn't be disappointed. It would be a gamble, but it has the potential to yield huge dividends.

His running after the catch reminds me of TO ... very strong and agressive. The only thing that bothers me from his highlights is that DB's were often in decent position on him. That's countered by the fact that he goes up for the ball strong and makes plays with his great hands. But I wonder if he'll be able to get open consistently at the next level.

I agree 100%.

The risk/reward factor would be too great.

Hell, you could draft a great character guy in the first, and there'd be a 50/50% chance he'd be a bust anyway.

I wouldn't touch Dez in the top 5-8 picks, I'd think twice about taking him #9-17ish. If you can grab Dez in the 20's, you do it in a heart beat.

Am I missing something about Bryant's character? I mean, all he did was not tell the truth about meeting with Deion? Is there something more than that?

There's been a lot of talk about him always being late to meetings, practices, and even games. Some talk about him being drunk at some of the above as well.

This would be a heck of a whole lot smarter than drafting a 4th CB.

What happens if Austin goes down?

Nothing personal, but you don't know if he is going to fall. Or maybe it depends on what you mean by "fall". If you mean all the way to us, that would be falling. If you mean to #15, not so much. The talent is so good at the very top that he maybe would not have been picked above 7-10 in any scenario.

I heard he was late for practice...once...in his freshman year.

There is obviously more to it than that. No top 5 prospect drops to the bottom of the 1st round due to being late for one practice their freshman year.

i think he will be drafted somewhere between 17th and 24th slot

if he runs a 4.4 then he will go higher, but if he runs say a 4.55 in 40 or slower then yes he will fall
