2 matchups I'm really looking forward to seeing this year. Dez is my favorite player on the Cowboys, and he is just better than Jenkins, so I think he'll get the best of the matchup. But I don't think it will be some 150 yard 2td performance, Jenkins can hold his own.

It is also going to be fun to see how Rob Ryan gameplans for us. He knows our offense inside and out, as we know his defense inside and out. I think we get the best of the matchup just based off the fact our offense is top 10 best and their defense is top 5 worst, as of right now ofcourse.

Which matchup are you looking forward to seeing more?

I think you give Ryan to much credit. He barely knows his own defense. He needs to worry about having the right amount of players on the field first. Conversely, JG knows that if he has a hurry up offense, he renders Ryan's defense pedestrian.

I don't think he's some wizard DC, but he knows our offense. He saw it every week several times a week for 2 years straight

I think Rob is a very creative mind, but the minutia isn't his deal and a lot of his schemes and ideas are not always practical. He's the type that can throw brilliant offensive minds fits (see Cleveland vs. New Orleans in 2010) and then get royally owned by more simplistic offensive minds.

I could care less about Rob Ryan or Mike Jenkins.

I like Jenkins but he'll likely get abused by Dez based on size alone

I am glad Jenkins and Ryan are gone. Jenkins pull up on a Giant Tackle forever cemented him in my mind as the kind of guy we don't need.

I almost threw up the day anything associated with Buddy Ryan ever wore a Star. :ralph:

Better days are ahead for us now that those schlubs are gone.

Just my opinion though. :)

What about in 2011 when his shoulder was damaged goods and instead of sitting out he layed his physical health on the line each week all the while being the best cover corner on the team. I realize that doesnt fit the narrative of the guy being a quitter but its certainly worth noting if we're going to talk about him objectively. I've seen far worse individual plays from guys that are still on this team.

Being the best cover corner on that particular team means that he could definitely get a job in the CFL. Beyond that, who knows. The corners on that team were awful.

I'm not really interested in either matchup.

I'm not even sure Jenkins will be covering Dez.

And I'm not sure how familiar the team is with Ryan's system. What he ran in Dallas didn't really look like what he ran in Cleveland. Can anyone remember more than maybe a couple times where he was using the formations that he used in Cleveland?

Psycho?

Perhaps it just seems like he didn't run them because I expect the team to do it a lot more than they did but I can't recall many times where they used it.

how much less
If someone asked "What is TO doing these days?", then I would say I care less about TO than I do about Rob Ryan and Mike Jenkins.

I know a lot of our players still think highly of Rob Ryan, but there's a reason he's now defensive coordinator for a fourth team. I know he didn't have a lot of talent to work with in Oakland or Cleveland. But this Dallas defense should have had more than 34 sacks and 7 interceptions last year.

Our mash unit D was/is better than the Saints D and they were all healthy, Rob is going to get worked and Kenny Vaccaro will be little to no help imo. Honestly im looking forward to our games against the Skins & Eagles more since i want to see RG3 laid out cold for all the talking he's doing this off-season.

Lol, basically my thoughts. There's a reason why we got rid of both. I WILL say this. I think Dez will be a top 3 WR in the league this year. Jenkins will have to have his biggest day ever. Other than that the OL will decide this game. Ryan will call a good game, but I think you beat him with the run and frustrate him. He's a gambler and the only way to neutralize that is to pound the run game, hence... OL, Murray and Randall. Boring ballgame but if we stay on cue, I think we'll get the W. Not worried about our defense, even though I haven't seen anything. God, it feels good to say that.
