I was watching the 98 Vikings today on NFLN, and remembered how Moss was going to come here but we passed on him because of his off the field antics.

The Vikings didn't think he'd fall as far as he did.

Mayock was quoted saying he is one of the best prospects at WR before he was suspended.

Maybe Jerry doesn't want to make the same mistake 12 years later....

When you say he would be making the same mistake you are reffering to Dez being as good as Moss and I am sorry but you will be disapointed if you think he will ever reach what Moss has done on the field.

I don't see Moss potential.

For a guy like Dez I think a good goal for him is to be a top 5 receiver in the league at some point.

If he were drafted by Dallas his goal should to try and be better than Austin and that would be a tough task in itself.

But Moss? We're talking about the most physically gifted receiver ever who has had some of the best single seasons ever.

Sorry but he's no Randy Moss type of receiver... When Dallas passed on Moss I damn near threw my remote at the TV.

To me that has some meat to the bones so to speak, but I believe this also. If you had listened to Brian Broaddus on DCFanatics show the other evening you would have heard Brian say that he thinks Jerry is being smart, because if some teams calls up when we are picking at 27th, and Dez is still there, you might get a hummer of a deal to trade down some. So, you have to do your homework etc...

Now at same time, Dez and Randy Moss are 2 different players. Randy had the pure deep speed and jumping ability of any wr in the league for a long long time.

Dez is more along the lines of a Michael Irvin, big physical wr, but not the elite deep speed. At same time, coming out of college, Moss and Irvin had put most of their past troubles behind themselves.

Dez hasnt.

I am hoping Dez has, just have to wait and see.

You meant Moss and Irvin?

Hey it happens, just wanted to make sure I was following you.... I think Bryant at 27 provides immediate impact in the return game and also some WR packages.

I know this is off topic but I also saw that episode on the 98 vikes. I never really put much stock into it but it has got to be brutal being a diehard vikes fan. You have the 98 collapse, even this past years blunder at NO, and the "push off" as they like to call it vs Dallas lol. Sucks to be a fan of theirs. And those are just a few off the top of my head.

yeah im really hoping that the nfl commissioner suspends Kevin and Pat Williams 8 games this year, that will put a hurt on them, and with them not having chester taylor, if AP goes down they are in serious trouble

i also dont think farve will have the success he had last year without all of the interceptions
