Curious why many of the players don't go after SAS? He hates the Cowboys and lets everyone know it.
Maybe because Smith doesn't pretend to be a Cowboy fan. There are plenty of anti-Cowboys fans in the world like Smith. Players would wear themselves out trying to respond to all of them.

I kinda wish they would keep their distance from any media guys except when mandated by the CBA. Marshawn Lynch's approach towards the media wasn't necessarily a bad thing in this aspect in my opinion.

I see it both ways, Lynch is just antisocial by nature.

On the other hand, I think a lot of these click bait "source" stories and media guys thinking their voice has reached deity status because they're on a TV show or write a column, have gotten this inflated ego from players being told not to work against them.

But times have changed, it's not about reporters just doing a respectful job, it's become about shock and awe headlines, hiding behind "sources" to present hearsay on a public forum.

I think if more players started hitting them where it hurts, turning their own audience against them since we all know players would definitely get more call to action than a media guy on social media, then maybe it'll stop this TMZ/gawker type journalism.

I can't even watch sports networks any more for "analysis" and "news". Watch games, pay attention to the team news, and read over box scores/stats and you'll get everything you need.

I mostly agree with everything but "taking on" the media is a calculated PR risk that may generated from zero forethought. Also, professional team sports athletes should consider what they say may have negative ramifications for their organization.

Not really related to this instance, but since the inception of social media, how many players have gotten into some type of trouble that can be directly related to the use of social media that would not have come up pre-social media?

Because SAS may not like the Cowboys as a team, but he mostly sticks up for players. He has only really borderline disrespected two guys, Kevin Durant and Slava Medvedenko.

Skip is the devil.

On the one hand, you hate to see Dez respond to Fisher and even validate the attention mongering. On the other, if a 'media' member is going to use their pulpit to specifically call out one player on one team (while he's injured and can't really prove otherwise), you can't blame the guy for appreciating another media member disputing it.

The real lesson here is that Skip Bayless is among the lowest forms of human life and that anybody who listens to a word that comes out of his phony mouth--even for entertainment purposes--ought to be embarrassed by their own judgement.

Dez has become more of a distraction than a productive playmaker.

But then, see, this happens. People ingest this horse **** and then blame the players who are getting targeted. In this case, for thanking somebody for disagreeing with Bayless' attention whoring for a show that nobody wants to see.

Wish Dez would just shut up and concentrate on getting back to the level of play he had 2 years ago.

Dez needs to get his name on the stat sheets soon getting tired of him

Dez needs to get his butt back on the field, shut his mouth and play ball. Like I said in another thread, give us a reason to miss you Dez.....

Dez has become more of a distraction than a productive playmaker.
