Dez is great on X.

And he is right. This team is not going anywhere soon. It just seems like the Cowboys have no plan. People talk about a team having an identity. This team hasn't had an identity in years. Or, if they think their identity is Dak, that's even worse.

Worse, I don't think the Cowboys leadership is on the same page. I think the people Jerry hires are "yes" men and just go along because they are thrilled to have the jobs they have. While Jerry zigs and zags his way through is GM responsibilities, the have to keep up or just go along. There is no continuity in strategy. Is it true when Jerry traded for Lance McCarthy had no idea? If so, is that not the problem with everything with this team?

Schottenheimer is just another coach in a line of coaches willing to let Jerry be Jerry. If it wasn't Schottenheimer, it would be some other desperate HC looking for the title and willing to give in to Jerry.

We could have hope that Jerry, at 82, is drawing close to retirement, but it appears Stephen taking over will be even worse. Our best hope is Stephen is unwilling to accept the criticism that comes with season after season of failure.
It's pretty pathetic that our only hope is reduced to hoping Stephen is too thin skinned to take the flak that his losing strategy will produce.

He has been set up for failure. I feel bad for the guy. A little.

I mean he will be a millionaire and get to have the dream job of caching the Dallas Cowboys—- but he is a puppet to a Sith Lord, and the media and fanbase have zero belief he will succeed.

When the team starts 0-3, the pressure and scrutiny will be unbelievable. He is stepping into a pressure packed situation where he was clearly not the first choice at HC and the fans have already turned on him.

For him to succeed, he will have to block out more hate, pressure, scrutiny, and overcome his own past mediocrity.

I am glad you are willing to “wait and see.” I am sure Jerry is thrilled that there a still a few fans with an open mind to how he “leads” this franchise
I don’t like Jerry, but what choice do I have? Do I let that preconceived bias determine my feelings towards Schottenheimer, who has done nothing to me deserving of scorn?

The whole “Jerry” must like you stuff totally misses the mark here and if we’re being honest us just a passive aggressive swipe anyway.

I like Dez... always have. But Dez is a wuss when he talks about the Cowboys. The man has no chance of ever playing in the NFL
again. He has no job to save. But he sugar coats his posts and replies. He is still scared to rock the boat lol.

Tom Landry or Vince Lombardi would find it hard to win 5 games with this current Cowboys roster!

It doesn’t matter who they hire, Jerry wouldn’t even let them properly build this team anyway.

Look, this is ridiculous. Schottenheimer has done NOTHING to make you believe he will be successful. Nobody else wanted him. You can't just hire a garbage man and say, well you don't know that he ISN'T good.
We don’t know how he will do, actually because I live in reality and will wait to see how things go whereas as you are choosing to be preemptively angry.

Go for it. It’s your own wasted energy.

Agree

Always knew that we wouldn't win anything with Jerry in charge once his "ego" took over however I officially stopped carrying once we went with Dak over Romo. Keeping JG so long. The J.Smith extension was also a breaker. Then this past Dak contract is bonkers.

Just a clown show at this point. It's like when you have a bad bowling night when you average 200+ and you just have to laugh the night off when you bowl 150s.

Basically dead inside when it comes to cheering for the cowboys. Will always be my team but cmon man. Jerry just sell the team at this point. You're possibly the worst GM in the history of the sport at this point

I am glad Dez has the balls to speak out about this joke of a team. I wish more did. If you don't like it, don't read it or listen. Preach on Dez!
