Consistency was the biggest concern.
Yes and he seems to be answering the bell. He has 8 games with 85 or more yards in the 12 contests this year. He also has 4 100-yard games plus a 98 yarder and a 95 yarder after having only 1 the previous two years combined.
You also have to love his ability to score. 8 TDs as a rookie, 9 last year and 8 so far this year. I bet there are not many receivers with more TDs over the last 3 years than him.
To me the thing that has been most impressive is how many of the things that he was doing wrong last year that he does better this year:
1. He only ran 3 routes last year
2. Romo seems to be trusting him a bit more on his reads lately
3. He maintains his cool on the field and off of the field during games this year. Last year it seemed that coaches expended a lot of energy trying to keep him calm and in the game.
4. He doesn't leave himself as open for shots by trying to break multiple tackles quite as much.
5. He doesn't disappear in the second half anymore.
The one thing that has disappointed me this year is a few crucial drops. I still believe he has been very clutch overall throughout his Cowboys career and was rooting for him so hard to pull down that catch against the Skins in the 4th quarter on Turkey day but the safety made a great play putting his helmet on the ball before he tucked it away. That one-handed catch just before the end of the half was great and the back-shoulder throw catch for the TD on 4th down on Turkey day was also great.
Now if only his off the field life can calm down he could achieve superstar status.
