If I were throwing fades to dez I would arc that **** in an almost hilariously high way. Like a punt level hang time. 90% db's would get bodied

Dez's inability to separate and run good routes is why his opportunities will be more limited with Dak at QB than they were with Romo who gave him plenty of contested catch opportunities. I expect his numbers to go up more once he and Dak get more familiar with each other but Dez is going to have to make the most of every opportunity he gets like he did last night. Dez is able to separate at times, just not very often which is why most of his catches are contested.

The play right before Dez's TD catch, he was wide open but did not get the ball. The ball went to a tighly covered Witten. So do we only count separation when the ball is thrown his way?

The interference one was well underthrown so hard to tell if he would have had separation.

Hopefully Dak starts to realize that Dez is open even when he's covered.

That line of thinking seems to be a bit like we can get by with horrible offensive linemen because Romo is so elusive. It even sounds reasonble if you say it really fast. Then reality sets in and the party is over.

I would really be interested to see how many more games we would have won with Romo and how many fewer ints Romo would have if he was more selective of the targets of Dez. I'll bet Romo wishes he had many of those back.

It is unfair to say Dez NEVER gets separation. It is much more accurate to say he OFTEN doesn't get separation.

No, we don't want him to realize that.
Dak is succeeding because he smart and takes calculated risks. I'd rather be grow from that foundation.

Yes. Maybe they should teach Dez to get separation instead of teaching Dak to throw into double coverage, which he doing a pretty good job of avoiding for a rookie.

Who said anything about double coverage? You should marry a scarecrow for as much as you seem to love straw men.

(Not that there's anything wrong with that )

I am pretty sure no one is asking that Dak throw a jump ball to Dez in double coverage.
But single coverage against less than topflight corners, throw it up and back shoulder all day long.......

and by the way, Dez is repsonsible for 4 td's (including the interference) and he still gets complaints......

They still have to be on the same page or it can turn into a turnover. Dak and Dez have had several communication problems this season and it's going to take time for them to become familiar with each other. Romo and Dez weren't always on the same page when Dez first arrived. Dak throws to the open receiver he doesn't like throwing picks.

You need to read my post again. I agreed with the post I quoted. It really had nothing to do with you.

Actually to some of these guys Dez is super human, able to leap a tall building in a single bound. According to them Dez is never covered even when he is covered. Dez might pull a ball down on occasion even if he is double covered. But how many times will it get picked off out of a hundred shots? How many of those will cost us a game? It is just a poor risk.

That corner was a special team guy brought up from the practice squad.

Unfortunately, there won't be any of those in the playoffs.

Bolded comment really is huge exaggeration response due to the hate Dez receives on the board. Natural effect of stupid Dez bashing......

I think there are all sort of interesting arguments on whether Dez is still the receiver he was in 2012-2014 when he was one of the league leaders.

The only thing I can see that is obviously declined in his game is his ability to run after the catch. He used to be a terrifying bully of a runner after catching the ball and over the past 4 years he has gone from elite in that category to somewhere south of league average.

The accumulation of injuries to his legs and feet has robbed him of much of his elusiveness at this stage of his career. You can see it in his RAC per reception which have been steadily declining from their peak in 2013.

2013: 5.6 RAC yard per reception
2014: 4.9 RAC yards per reception
2015: 4.1 RAC yards per reception
2016: 2.7 RAC yards per reception

As he's not expected to. He's a possession receiver and not a burner. People who say that don't understand the type of receiver he is. That's like saying DeSean never wins the jump balls
Did people notice that Anquan Boldin was still playing in the NFL last night.......Dez has a bright future even without top end speed.......Joe Flacco made a SB out of throwing up the ball and letting Boldin go up and catch it
